We showed up on Monday around lunch and we’re greeted with smiles. The apps and and salads, along with some tasty IPA’s hit the spot. More than anything , you’ve got to check out the interior architecture…ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!! When there ask for Mallory ❤️
Came for dinner before our sunset cruise on Lake Erie and loved the food and service. The sandwiches are wonderful and the fires delicious. Absolutely loved their margaritas!!!
The place looks very authentic. Our waiter explained that the owner brought over a lot of the wood and decor from Ireland. The atmosphere brings you across the ocean. The evening we were there was a little chilly and they had a fire going. Although...there were many choices, we opted for Shepherd's Pie and Fish and chips, as the atmosphere reminded us of trip to Ireland and we wanted authentic food. The portion size was great. It was the right amount. I hate wasting food. Service was excellent. Atttentive without being too close.More
First the good news: Our server was right on top of everything and was kind and gracious. We had the pork belly appetizer which was amazing. And now the bad news: the pasta was way too salty and was ordered with tomatoes but with minimal...other vegetables, but instead appeared with no tomatoes or sauce at all! The chicken on it was dry and chewey. While shepherd's pie was acceptable it was pretty pedestrian, not at all what I would hope for, for an Irish Pub.The total came to over $80 with tip and was certainly overpriced for the quality of food. Nice Irish pub vibe, but we will not be back.More
Molly’s is amazing, just amazing. As I’ve adventured through the menu, I have never had a meal that was less than delicious. My most recent favorite is the Rachel!
This restaurant was at one time of my favorite downtown Erie restaurants because of food, service and predictability. Unfortunately, my recent experience prevents me to be positive. Serious attention needed by staff in greeting and accommodation customers. Unlikely to have another visit.
We decided to start March early; and have dinner at the Irish pub, around the corner from where we were staying. We ordered some traditional Irish dishes. I ordered the shepherds pie and he ordered the bangers & mash. The service was a little lacking;...and the prices seemed high. But that seems to unfortunately be the norm these days. Worth the trip just to enjoy the atmosphere.More
We came here for dinner specifically for the Christmas bar decor and had a good time. It was a little bit of a wait even though we had a reservation, but there was a cute waiting area we could sit in. We sat in the...back and our server was quick and attentive with refills and orders. I had the burger, which was flavorful and really good. It came with fries, which I thought were really good. Overall, it was a great experience!More
Great atmosphere , great service and genuine Irish fare ! A little bit pricey , but not outrageous , and it's worth it !
No issues with reservation; walked right in and was seated. Husband had fish and chips which he enjoyed but it was alot of food. Unable to get a to-go box as we were staying at a hotel which did not have a fridge. I had...the cauliflower soup - too salty and the egg rolls which were not good at all. Again, very salty and the roll tasted like it had been fried earlier then reheated in the microwave. Not crispy and fresh. Service was very good; everyone very nice. Atmosphere was very pub-like.More
Great place! We stopped in for lunch. We had an appetizer of pretzels which was great and bowls if potatob soup. Homemade and delicious. Highly recommend this place. Great atmosphere too
We had an EXCELLENT time at Molly’s! My mom’s salmon was the “Best” she ever had and my burger with the Guinness BBQ sauce was easily one of the best burgers I had in ages! The atmosphere is a perfect balance of fun and relaxed...and the restaurant looks aesthetically “authentic Irish.” Our server was GREAT, her name was Ashlin and made my our experience at Molly’s one to remember. They also have a double sided fireplace, so I’d suggest requesting a table next to it. If you’re torn between eating at one of the waterfront restaurants in Erie or Molly’s, do what we did! Head down to the waterfront and have happy hour drink before dinner then drive the 5 minutes from there into downtown Erie and enjoy a fantastic dinner at Molly’s! Also for dessert the warm bread pudding and ice cream was amazing! I would 100% recommend this place!More
I lived in Erie in 2008. I visited Molly Brannigans frequently mainly for their Seafood Chowder. It was amazing and unlike any I had ever had. The service, and atmosphere was amazing. Needless to say, when I visited again in 2019, it was under new...management, and the Seafood chowder is now New England Clam chowder and tastes like a can of Campbell's soup. I was not impressed. I was also very disappointed. We waited over an hr for food, and I was severely disappointed that my favorite dish was no longer my favorite.More
Ordered the pretzels and "beer cheese," not sure what they call cheese--like goop. Peel and eat shrimp averaged $1 per medium shrimp. They arrived in a bowl of luke warm liquid, submerged in the liquid, accompanied by a fork. Never saw peel and eat shrimp...that needed to be lifted from a liquid bath of spicy, otherwise flavorless watery whatever. Had to ask for a plate to put the shells in and extra napkins as I peeled the very wet shrimp. Potato and leek soup had potatoes and looked like it had been thickened with instant mashed potato flakes. Never saw a leek, let alone tasted one. Didn't have to worry about any drips as it was thicker than wall paper paste. Companion had the tater tot bowl with brisket; had asked if it was enough for a meal and was told "yes." . Brisket was bacon bits--otherwise no meat. Served barely warm, but wait meant she was too hungry to send it back. This restaurant is now owned by the Red Letter Hospitality group so we expected the same quality of food, which we have enjoyed within the past year, at the "The Cork 1794" in Erie as well as the "Skunk and Goat Tavern" in North East. There is no comparison. The building is nice. We were in the back and the noise meant it was difficult to talk. Upon entering at 6:15 without reservations on a Monday night, we were told we had a 45 minute wait, which fortunately was only 10 minutes. Staff friendly and attentive to filling water glasses, but this couldn't make up for the lack of food quality.More
