My wife and I were back in Erie visiting family and we knew that we had to have an evening out for dinner at Colao's. Emily ordered the Shrimp Pomodoro and I decided to take our server's advice of ordering the Osso Buco. She served my dinner with a steak knife, aftering informing me that it was so tender. I... Three of us went to Colao's for dinner. It was fantastic! Two of us are super critical of how food is cooked and how tastes. They couldn't have been more pleased. The are out-of-owners and live where the restaurants are spectacular and super expensive. Colao's has left a great impression!

We stopped here on on Monday evening after arriving in Erie. We had my husband and I, along with two tween girls. My husband not being a fan of chain restaurants, really loves locally owned family places. The more low key, the better. This place was wonderful. The food was scratch made and tasted delicious! It was a cute quaint... More

What a pleasant find! From start to finish, our entire dining experience was superb. The pomegranate martinis, antipasto, dipping oil were fabulous. Bar none, the best scallop appetizer ever. Scallops were seasoned and sautéed to perfection. The veal for the Marsala was beyond tender and delicious. My husband and I fought over the mouth watering lemon creme cake that finished... More

This was my "go to" place when returning to Erie for a special meal, but this last visit was a bit disappointing. I always check out the menu on line to see what excites me. I saw the veal chop and the taste buds were flowing. It was on the menu when we arrived, but I was told they did... More

Small, cramped environment. Old and out of date. Our party had chicken plicate, linguine with clam sauce, and meat balls and spaghetti. Seems like we covered all the bases, but they were all under seasoned an lacking flavor. Small salad with the cheapest of ingredients. House dressing was poor. Unfriendly staff and an addition charge for everything. Two small watery... More

Happened to be in Erie and decided to try Colao's based on favorable Trip Advisor ratings. In short, I was disappointed. I had the linguine with white clam sauce and it was not at all what I was expecting. I expected a light, garlicky sauce with maybe some fresh herbs for brightness. What I got was - no garlic, no... I had not been to Colao's in years. My parents are in town from Kansas and wanted good Italian food. Surprisingly, with Erie being very Italian, I am not impressed with ANY of our Italian restaurants. I had a friend remind me of Colao's. There were 6 in our party and ALL of us LOVED our meals. The home made... More

Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable, striking the right tone for date night. We got there a bit early, so we sat at the bar for a glass of wine. The bartender was extremely helpful in directing us to a wine we liked a great deal. Our server, Trey, was attentive and helpful when discussing... More

Loved eating at Colao's. Had the best eggplant parm that I have had anywhere. The bread was outstanding as was all that I ate here. The service was also really great.
