Great food! Some people complain about food here but why do they travel here aren’t there good places to eat in your area? We only live in central Pa. And been coming here since 1970s these people running it are good hard working people.so why...complain. Good place for birthdays and anniversaries. Will still come here and hard to get good workers these days, but shady maple has hard workers! Hope things in our world turn around and more people start being hard workers!More

My find and I stopped here for lunch on arriving in Lancaster County. We figured since we couldn’t check in to our hotel until 3-4 PM maybe doing a late lunch would be a good idea. I had been here previously on a very, very...hot day and there were lines around the building to get in. That time I didn’t feel like waiting outside in the heat. This time, no lines, probably because it was around 1:30 PM. We were seated quickly by a very nice hostess. The table numbers are easy to see which is good because the place is huge. We decided to walk from one end of the very long line of buffet tables to get an idea of what was available. My friend and I both tried the roast beef and mashed potatoes & gravy which was delicious. I also took a ham ball, stuffed pepper, and green beans on my first plate of food. I filled a cup with decaf coffee and went back to the table. My friend found one of her favorites, grilled shrimp and said it was delicious. When I finished my first plate of food I then went and made myself a spinach salad with red onion and topped with hot bacon dressing and also took a piece of baked haddock. The hot bacon dressing here is to die for delicious! The baked haddock was also very good. For dessert I had an apple dumpling which was pretty good and a second cup of coffee. We were both very pleased with the cleanliness of the facility and quality and price of food. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. If you do go here, don’t forget to go to the gift shop downstairs, it is huge and has so many items. Also stop over and check out Shady Maple Market and the Goods store, too.More

My husband and I went here for lunch on our half day trip to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The line was outside when we arrived. Once inside, there were three cash registers. Once you pay, you are directed to a line where you wait to be...seated. It took about 20-30 minutes until we were finally seated. The price includes a 12% service fee. Once you are finished, you simply flip the card over that they gave you and leave. Many different options of food are available. The food ranged from not very good to great. My favorites were the ham balls, parmesan wings and blackberry cheesecake. A gift shop is available on the lower level which I did not check out because I was very full.More

They serve lots of amazing food. Is great just for a trip or a stop on the way to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Festival on Mount Hope. Great for breakfast, lunch, and dinner or just to even shop around.

Finally got to try this highly reviewed buffet place. Didn't have to wait too long in.line (luckily it was a Thursday and not the weekend). The variety of food was not exaggerated and was delicious. Wish I had a bigger stomach nd got full before...I could try everything. I tried! Maybe next time. Glad to check this off my bucket list.More

It was fine as buffets go. There is a lot of hype related to this restaurant but is not any better than other buffets I’ve been to. We went for breakfast.

This is a great place for a buffet/smorgasbord! Lots of great choices and well-prepared all things considered!

This might have been the worst buffet I have ever been to, and I am 50 years old. The steak was VERY gritty, the brisket was dried out, the crab cakes were all bread with no crab, and the mac and cheese was overcooked and...mushy. I went up again and got a piece of apple pie, which did not meet my standards and was rather plain. Honestly, with food of this quality, why would anyone pay the prices for this food?More

I was amazed by the incredible choice of food at this smorgasbord. We enjoyed the various types of steak available on the night we visited. All of the side dishes were vey appetizing as well. The desserts were also very tasty. The staff was helpful...in seating us.More

A large amount of food but pretty run of the mill stuff. Seating was quick and organized in spite of the crowds.

Long wait, food is grossly overpriced, the food was average at best, not done at worst. There were fruit flies flying around the tables. i.e. baked potatoes not done, lamb overcooked, Brussels sprouts not done.

I don't know what the fuss is all about. Yes there is plenty of food but I would rather pay more money for a better quality dinner. The only acceptable food was the stewed tomatoes, sauerkraut and the brisket. The brisket was sliced fresh but...was closer in taste to a chuck roast. The mac and cheese was gloppy and tasteless, the shrimp were dry, the roast beef was average as were the mashed potatoes. The delmonico steak was tough and way overcooked per my medium request. We were leaving at 6:00 and the lines were hundreds long. $45 for 2 seniors is way too expensive for less than average food. Don't waste your time on this tourist trap.More
