This is now one of my top ten restaurants to ‘go to’ for any occasion! My husband and I went there on a Saturday night for a much needed “Date Night” and we had a wonderful time! The food was amazing; the service was great and sitting outside on the deck made it the perfect evening! We started with an... More

We were looking for Stoudt's Tavern and realized we had passed it and decided to give the Black Horse a try. Décor is dated, however a nice vintage throw back to days gone by. The restaurant and restrooms are very clean and there is no old smell or anything. The wait staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The rolls were... More

My wife and I took our son and future daughter in law in August 2012. The food, service, and atmosphere was awesome! We are going there this coming Thursday August 15 and do it all again!

We had just purchased a new car and decided to celebrate. We picked the Black Horse again because meals are always special. I had a Bahama Mama drink . Our appetizer was the asparagus fries. I enjoyed a Caesar salad. My husband had the evening special of Sea Bass with couscous and summer vegetables. I had the Scallops with beluga... More

Quite frankly, given its location, Denver, Pennsylvania, just off the Turnpike, I expected at best an adequate meal. Whoa, was I surprised. First course - risotto and goat cheese fritters. Delicate and tasty. Next, I ordered one of the nightly specials, and I'm very glad I did. A grilled sirloin with caramelized onions in a red wine sauce, goat cheese... More

Excellent food and service. Crab tots appetizer was wonderful. Steak and fries came with a delicious mushroom and blue cheese topping.

We had a larger party of guests & some finicky people and various meals were ordered with comments ranging from very good to so-so. Enjoyed the beer flight option; appetizers were tasty. I had the flat iron steak which was cooked to order (medium rare; which means it wasn't dried out & tough) although the overall flavor wasn't memorable. Our... More

I'm a vegan; my husband isn't. It's not easy finding a restaurant where we can both get exactly what we want without having to make substitutions and lots of "please leave off the...". But at the Black Horse there are some wonderful options for me and plenty of great choices for him as well! I went for the lentil entrée,... More

From the appetizers to the desserts , this restaurant has the outstanding selections. The only problem is choosing just one item. We have returned many times just to try something else on the menu. There is even a vegetarian menu. The service is always excellent. I have recommended this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a delicious meal and... More
