Had a good meal here. The menu is small, but interesting. I enjoyed the duck. It was tender. My husband tried the pork chops. Quite a generous piece of meat he received. Vegetables were interesting. Everything was a little saltier than we prefer, but we are used to almost no salt added to our meals. We really enjoyed the Kilkenney... More

Summer-time cafe tables on the brick sidewalk, one of several quietly cultured downtown restaurants and a diner (famous for breakfast) among townhouses, shops, and a Carnegie free library. Bed and breakfasts nearby. Easy to get to from 81, but a far cry from the exhaust and asphalt of the Interstate strip.

Went to Bistro 71 as part of Chambersburg Restaurant Week where establishments are supposed to offer an $18.64 special. However when arriving we were told the specials pertained to lunch only. That was disappointing but we stayed anyway. We ordered alcohol, Tanguerey and tonic and bourbon and water which were weak. We had a crab dip appetizer which was ok.... More

Perfectly executed food. Service very good, not rushed. A little more knowledge of the wines on offer by the wait staff and an effort to store / serve them at the right temperature would be appreciated.

Food was excellent. The restaurant was not busy the day we were there for lunch. We ate outside on the patio and had the place to ourselves. We will definitely come back when we are in town.

The food was amazing and the staff very friendly. We were able to talk business with our guest. I ordered the Salmon which was wonderful, follow by cheesecake and a coffee.

Great time. Sampled the entire appetizer menu while enjoying martinis. Gray service, friendly with suggestions arms knowledgeable about the offerings. Lunch was also great. Brought our 81 year old mother who enjoyed it immensely. We will return.

Dined here with another couple. We were promptly seated in the patio area. Service was attentive and efficient. Food was freshly prepared and extra good. The duck breast is sublime. Ordinary deserts. Only complaint was that some of the kitchen staff were smoking outside the patio. Would definitely return.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner on our trip to State College. What a great place for dinner. She had the grilled scallops, done just right, golden brown on the outside, still tender and moist when you bit into it... I had the short ribs, they were great...

This upscale eatery was quite a surprise. The atmosphere and food quality was something you would expect in a larger city.
