My husband planned an impromptu gathering of nearby family to try a restaurant that him and I have been wanting to try. Oh my goodness!!! This gem of a place was beyond our expectations and will be visited by us more often. The food was superb, even for my gluten and dairy free diet. Everything was prepared meticulously and served piping hot. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful in the orchestration of special requests. The wine menu was adequate and to my delight, limoncello was an option. I chose that as my dessert and it was reminiscent of the delectable delight that I had in Italy. Everyone enjoyed the meal and all agreed that this is a new favorite gathering place. If you have never tried this authentic Italian experience, you owe it to yourself to do so.

We enjoyed our lunch today so much. Scallop appetizer was delicious, the bread was definitely homemade and served warm. My manicotti was cheesy good and my husband loved his pasta with shrimp. We purposely tried Mario's instead of going to one of the chains and we're glad we did. Will definitely return.

We stopped here on October 15 for dinner on the first leg of our trip to Florida. We enjoyed delicious dinners of chicken parmesan and salmon with rice. The salads were fresh and the basked of focaccia was baked in-hous. Our waitress, Cinzia, was very pleasant and made great recommendations about the food. Outdoor seating was available also.
If we are in the Chambersburg area again, we will definitely stop at Mario's.

We grabbed a pizza and and a salad to go on our recent visit to chambersburg. The pizza was delicious (though very cheesy and a bit greasy, but nothing some paper napkins couldn't dab away). The antipasto salad was delicious. They included a hot garlic knot in our order. We ordered online and it was ready at the selected pickup time.

My husband and I were traveling and I looked on Trip Advisor for suggestions of places to stop and eat lunch. We like Italian and Mario's was a good choice. The food was good and the owners were friendly.

They have amazing dough! Love the rolls, pizza and pasta! They are friendly, fast, and clean. Employees are always smiling. The sell the pizza dough so you can make your own pizza at home.

I really enjoyed the gnokki and my friend enjoyed her meal. Very good mixed sauce, and pretty good bread. The bread vanished pretty quickly. My only complaint is that it was a bit pricy for the servings we got.

There was a group of 12 of us that was there for a Red Hat luncheon. I'd been there several years ago and wasn't impressed but decided to give it a try again. Our waitress was very attentive and was pleasant. We had a variety of food and all were pleased with theirs.

Terrific dinner. Fresh sautéed calamari was super. Pasta was perfectly done and not over-sauced. Salad was crisp and tasty with good Italian dressing. Wine by the glass was average. Service was great.

This was my first time to this restaurant. It is located across the street for Montezuma and next door to Inka. Please refer to me reviews of them. The place hit me as odd. It was not a pizza joint and was not a real Italian restaurant. With all the “interior decorating” they did, it looked like a movie set creation with imitation stone, stone walls, murals, awnings, etc. There is a small bar that seats five and dining tables on the left and right as well as outside (with a view of the parking lot).
My order was the Seafood trio appetizer ($13) and the Chicken parmigiana ($16) entrée which comes with choice of four pastas and a side soup or salad. I also ordered a meatball ($2) and glass of house cabernet ($5.50).
What I Liked:
- The complimentary, large pizza dough roll was the lightest I have ever been served. Most are very dense. It was very good, and I used it to “house” my side meatball for a mini sandwich!
- The spicy crab soup was great. As a side to the entrée it was a larger than expected portion, loaded with diced product and not over seasoned. The spice level was just right.
- The boneless chicken breast was thicker than most places, not over breaded or fried too long. It was very tender and could be cut with your fork, yet they served it with a large steak knife, lol! When I was asked by the chef how it was, and I told him, he asked if that was a good thing ... dah!
- The angel hair pasta was cooked properly
What I Did Not Like:
- They were out of two of the four red wines
- I have been to Southside Mario’s but this was the first time experiencing “Saltside” Mario’s. Wow, the sauce was so over salted. They used it on both the seafood appetizer and the pasta for the chicken parmigiana.
- The seafood trio appetizer had the smallest clams I have ever eaten. All six were the size of my thumbnail! It makes me wonder if they fished them out of a local creek. They would pair well with the micro shrimp I had next door a couple weeks ago at Inka. For shame on both places because you relegate yourself to be a clown operation serving something like this. I mentioned my disappointment of the size to the chef and he seemed annoyed. C’Mon man!
My overall rating placed this restaurant at #77 of the 103 restaurants I have eaten at in the Carlisle area since February 2019.

I’ve read some bad reviews and almost didn’t go here, but so glad I did. I was treated like a king and everything was prepared very well for the price you pay.
I travel a lot and use Trip Advisor to decide where to eat. Briefly, good food, and most importantly, the 2 gentleman that kept coming to the table provided excellent customer service.
