Lovely evening in June

We had a lovely meal and enjoyed White Orchids tremendously! Prices are a bit higher than the post but you can get a dinner (sans protein) for $15 but most entrees are now $30+. The portions were more than adequate - and my Drunkin' Noodles with sea food trio was brimming with seafood! My husband ordered the fried fish (can't recall the exact name) and it was awesome and came with 2 big planks of fish with an apple slaw. We also had the Money Bag "shareable" since I had heard of these but had never tried them - a bit pricey for 5 pieces (and why the odd number for a shareable?) but very delicious! Service was leisurely but nicely done so leave enough time to enjoy. We sat out on the patio on a beautiful evening and were very pleased.

Small portions, food is ok. A bit too pricey but great location

I've been here a few times and the wait staff really need customer service training. Good food/ Dessert options are limited and the non-alcohol drink menu is way overpriced for premixed ingredients. They Jane also decreasedthe portion size, however, I really enjoy the pineapple rice once you add in their spicy sauce for flavor. Not sure I'll be going back, but It's a very nice location and I wish them the best.

An Unexpected Gem of a Thai Restaurant

I don’t frequent many Thai restaurants because I haven’t been impressed with most of them but White Orchids is the exception and it’s located at the Promenade in Center Valley. You can tell the food is fresh and, therefore, quite tasty. The presentation is mouth watering and the service is right on and friendly. They also have a nice, small bar. The prices are reasonable and they have a great Take Out menu as well. And you can choose how much spice you’d like and whether you want to go Vegan.

Not worth the wait!

Unfortunately not the best customer service! Frequently visited restaurant for lunch with business associates! Experience up to date was pleasant and enjoyable! I came in around 7 o’clock and was told would I mind sitting in the bar. No one else was there. Bartender was pleasant welcoming and professional. Unfortunately she had to serve all the drink order for the restaurant by herself and helped with takeout. I waited patiently for a beer which took 10 minutes then waited for the soup for another ten minutes. The bartender was just trying to do her best. After a reasonable amount of time I asked the host/manager if he could find my entree. He came back and told me my food was in the wok! He came back with the entrée. Interesting it wasn’t very hot! And then gave me a lecture that I really didn’t wait that long! I disagree with him since I’ve had three or four colleagues get serve lunch with basically the same food in less time! Adding insult to injury I paid eight dollars for four tiny shrimp! Felt bad for the bartender!

Terrible Thai food.

My Wife and I ordered the Light & Crispy Fried Spring Rolls – Po Pia Tod, Price $11 Described as Clear vermicelli noodles, chicken and mixed vegetables. Served with a light chili & carrot vinegar dipping sauce for an appetizer. The four Spring Rolls came on a oval dish with no garnish and a small tin of a watery substance, that was so diluted that it was tasteless. The Spring Rolls could have come from the frozen food department. Actually, I've had better in the frozen food department. My Wife main dish was ordered from the "new menu"(website still shows the old one). She had Bobby's Vegetable Curry. Price $28.00 The curry was so concentrated and downing out the noodles it was inedible, except for the vegetables in the dish. The waitress did offer to take it back, but we didn't want to spend anymore time waiting for a different dish. I had ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. Price $22.00 Described as Stir-fried vermicelli rice noodles, egg, scallions and bean sprouts. Served with crushed peanuts. It was by far the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. An uninspired glutinous heap of rice noodles with some crushed peanuts thrown on one side of the dish. There might have been a scallion or two in the dish, but I didn't see any egg. Seriously an embarrassment and poor excuse for Pad Thai at an "upscale Thai Restaurant". At the end of dinner, I requested the manager. The woman comes over with defensive hands on her hips, and never quite apologized. She or the waitress(can't remember) actually asked if we would like to take the leftovers home with us!! Really? As a parting good will gesture, the Manager brings over 2 small flutes of Prosecco. My Wife was already in the car, and I just wanted to leave and never return.

Good food and Nice atmosphere

C19 protocols were in evidence when we arrived in our masks and escorted to our table in the adjoining room by the bar. We had not been here in several years and there had been changes to the space. it was very comfortable and quiet. We were not terribly hungry and didn't order appetizers but went straight to entrees. My wife ordered a white wine and i just had water. She ordered the Panang Curry and I the Haw Muk Seafood. She isn't a spicy dish person and tried a level two spiciness while I went for a four our of five. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us often. Our meals came after a short wait and mine was excellent with plenty of calamari and shrimp. A nice bowl of rice was served on the side. The interesting part was the jumbo scallops came in a hollowed out coconut shell and the secret here is to scrape out the coconut and eat that with the scallops and the rest of the dish. The sweetness of the coconut really added to the flavor of the savory dish and oh yes it was spicy but not too over powering that it ruined the plate. My wife said hers was just a bit too hot for her taste but enjoyed the flavors. She ended up getting a box as the portions are big. It was an enjoyable evening and we would do it again.

Takeout Incompetence

This past weekend we ordered takeout at White Orchids in the Promenade Shops in Center Valley. It was the thrid time we ordered takout and the second time the order was wrong! We ordered Basil Stir Fry with chicken each time. Their irst mistake was a few weeks ago when rice was not included. Secong mistake was this past weekend when the dinner do not include chicken. Amazing. We called the restaurant and were told that on fact the order should have included chicken and that it would be referred to management for resolution. I waited for a call and checked my bank to see if any credit was given by the restaurant. Nothing. Sorry to report this incompetence but they need to up their game if they want high marks from their patrons.

Quite a disappointment.

Beware. If you sit outdoor you will be greeted by the odor of sewage coming from nearby manholes (?). Lunch waterfall salad is head lettuce with shoe-leather bites of beef. Will not go back there for a LONG time.

Located in a large shopping center. Very nice decoration. Thai and Asian food. Everything was very good, although the squid salad I ordered, which advertised that it was fresh, I highly doubt it was. The pumpkin pie is very good, although too sweet for my taste. It is something general in the USA, in everything they tend to go overboard on sugar.

Starving!!!

Last evening we attempted to have a small birthday celebration for an 18 year old. We arrived at 5:50 and were immediately seated. We ordered within 7 minutes and our meal arrived at 7:20!!!! The waitress kept apologizing for the delay, but that is not her fault! After we finished eating, a staff member came over to ask if we could close one of the blinds as another customer complained! No one from management came over. The excuse was there were two parties in the back. The food was good, but when your meal is delayed over an hour, that is unacceptable!!!!

Thai at a Perkins

While the food was fresh and well prepared, the spices/flavor was bland even after asking for medium heat. Ok Americanized Thai food. And the service was horrible. Sat with no napkins or silverware. Asked for napkins and got 3 cocktail napkins.
