We were looking for somewhere nice for an anniversary dinner. We’ve always wanted to try the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion, so this was a great excuse! The dining room was nice, not too posh or upscale but definitely a nice setting. First we ordered drinks. My...wife got the 1794 Dutch 95 (Tito’s, Prosecco, house sours, and agave) Quote “It’s yummy”. I went low key with the Yeungling. As an appetizer I got the poutine. Now I’ve tried poutine multiple times, everywhere from Canada to the UK. This was by far the best! The gravy was delicious and the melted cheese curds were fantastic. The perfect poutine. For main course my wife ordered the broiled crab cakes, which she said were delicious. I had the Bastille Filet Medallions. I had these cooked medium well and they were delicious also. My side choices of root hash and mushrooms were also on point. For dessert we shared an apple dumpling and it really topped off the deal! Perfect flaky pastry which we covered in ice cream. A fitting end. Here’s to many more years! And here’s to many more meals like this!More

Connie, our server, was upbeat, polite and very friendly. She did an excellent job of taking our order, giving suggestions and explaining entrees and other items on the menu. Our food was cooked perfectly, served hot and perfectly seasoned.

An amazing dining experience at Whiskey Rebellion. The service was fantastic and food was incredible; the whiskey selection and cocktails amazing. The cost reflects the quality. Visited the establishment with some friends after work; drove an hour to do so and not disappointed. Dress is...causal.More

We had breakfast here several mornings. Our hostess, Tacha S., prepared everything superbly. We are early risers so we appreciated having hot coffee ready for us at 6:45 AM, as well as muffins, cereal, eggs and sausage, fresh fruit, yogurt, bagels, fruit juices and just...about anything you could want. It made for the perfect start to our day.More

This establishment advertises 20% off Monday night steak night. However when it was the time to pay our bill we were told that we would have had to ask the manager to approve us for this discount?!? There was absolutely no where that this information...was provided on their website nor was it even mentioned to us when we ordered. With a restaurant that attempts to pride themselves on being at the high end of quality food and service, they have completely lost our support. I will be sure everyone I know that has frequented this restaurant in the past and are considering in the future to no longer support the Whiskey Rebellion. What a cheap lousy way to try to save a buck with their exorbitant prices. Good bye to you!More

This place is wonderful. Dinner and service was great when I was here in August. This trip I was here for business and enjoyed the breakfast served at the hotel, handled by David. His service was beyond any review I could give! My colleagues and...I also needed a room for a training session and he set us up, made us feel welcome and was an absolute pleasure to chat with! What a wonderful addition to an already great place with delicious food.More

Every Thanksgiving for the last 20 years we spend time at Comfort Suites in Carlisle PA for a few days; home for the holidays. The restaurant is amazing and we are always warmly welcomed by the courteous and talented staff at Whiskey Rebellion. Dinner is...amazing, but the breakfast is top notch. The entire team could not have been more friendly or welcoming.More

What an amazing place! Sat at the bar in ordered a ribeye. I honestly have to say, it's the best ribeye in town! And Laurel is absolutely amazing! She is the bartender that waited on me and she was super attentive and gave the best...recommendations! Totally would come back to this place because of her! She's well versed on all of the whiskeys and bourbons as well as the menu. She's friendly and professional and she quickly gets to know who you are. Smoked old fashions are my favorite and she made it perfectly. I will definitely be back! And if you're coming through town I highly recommend the 1794!More

Four of us ate at 1794 last night. Even though we live in town - we don’t visit the restaurant because of the high prices. Last night was a special event so that’s where we went. The food was very good, but the portions are...small. The crab cakes were very good but the included side of “root mash” was so small that I thought it was crab crake crumbs on the plate. My wife’s trout was very tasty and her upgraded side serving of asparagus was more substantial. Bread for two is an A’la cart side dish - really? Not even bread or rolls for the table when you are paying $30 for a meat? Limited beer and wine selections but a wide variety of whiskies offered. If 1794 wants to mimimic big city speciality steak houses, then they need to train servers to be more attentive of the very few customers in the restaurant. If you are visiting and on an expense account then go visit 1794 and push the limit. The atmosphere and ambiance of the restaurant is clean and very nice. The restrooms are up the hall and are clean and well stocked. Parking is metered on the street or in the attached pay parking garage. I wish that I could recommend 1794 but Carlisle has several nice restaurants with similar food, better service and larger portions.More
