Went out for date-night dinner at 6pm. Waited a little to be seated because they were busy (good sign!) but they did pleasantly acknowledge us & say they’d be with us when they could. Once seated, we ordered our drinks (Pepsi and peach iced tea.)...Our waitress did a great job of keeping our drinks filled for the evening. My bbq pulled pork with mac&cheese and tater tots was absolutely delicious! My husband’s Texas meatloaf was good, but a bit unexpectedly spicy. He loved his mac&cheese and green beans & ham. Friendly & professional staff. Will definitely return.More

Great fast service, good fresh coffee with lunch. Generous salads, cranberry almond chicken salad was excellent. I recommend stopping in for a meal

My family of 10 were at your restaurant on Saturday and our waitress Dominique was the best!!! We had some changes in our orders and she served us all so well and was friendly and gracious to all of us. We are all 70 plus...and just wanted you to know how pleased we were!More

Visited after attending PIAA state cross country championship. We wanted to eat somewhere that was not a chain. The restaurant has a quaint small town charm to it. We were seated right away and our orders were taken fast. I ordered the hot turkey sandwich...which was very good. I was very full but I just had to force a piece of the chocolate mousse pie. Which was also very good. My only regret was that I didn't get a big tub of coleslaw to take home. Their coleslaw was some of the best I've had in a long time. If you're in Carlisle and looking for a place to, this is a great place to go. I highly recommended it.More

My wife and I split the brisket dinner. Good, basic brisket, but the should not call it "smoked" or "barbecue". More like roast beef with some BBQ sauce. Good rolls. Hesitate to re-visit this place.

Grest home cooking at budget prices. Had the broiled and fried haddock and it was tender and tasty. Strawberry sundae was excellent. You won’t leave hungry! Great staff too.

Atmosphere reminiscent of a uncommercialized, cracker barrel. Servers friendly and attentive. Fellow patrons also friendly. Seems to be where locals go. Food was unbelievable! Kicking myself for not going here earlier! Had the crab Mac which was next level… Low cost! Meal for too people...that we could not finish, took leftovers home $37! For the amount of food we got we initially thought the incorrectly calculated bill.More

Went recently and was not at all impressed, ordered the 3 meat sampler and the ribs were so so and that's the best I can do. The "brisket" was not in any way shape or form brisket, seemed like it was stew meat slathered in...BBQ and the Texas Meatloaf sucked. Asked for my fries well done and they came out under-cooked and lukewarm at best.My wife had a half rack of ribs she was not impressed either, her fries where just as warm as mine. I was generous in giving them two stars.More

We stopped here on a Sunday for dinner while visiting Carlisle. Very easy to find off I-81. My husband really enjoyed his hot turkey sandwich and I had grilled chicken breasts. Everything was tasty and very fresh. The coleslaw was excellent. The wait staff was...very friendly. Will definitely return.More

Great restaurant just off I81 with a wide selection menu. They also have wonderful bakery items, and some other offerings to take along for the ride. A cute country decor and good home cooked food made for the perfect dinner.

Nearby the Red Roof Inn, this seemed like the perfect spot. The ribs were tough and under seasoned, my hot turkey sandwich… was not a sandwich – a single thin slice of white bread, neither was it hot – barely lukewarm. The turkey was decent...but the white sauce on top tasted like thickened salty milk. My potato salad was OK, very small portion, and the cranberry relish was inedible – mostly sweet maraschino cherries with a few cranberries here and there. Even the blueberry pie is very mediocre – canned blueberry filling encased in a tough, cold pastry. If this is "true Pennsylvania fare", I think we'll drive on next time.More

We ate dinner early and had been driving from Scranton PA. We saw this restaurant with easy access. Its name the same name of a road near us... so we just turned and had a great lunch/early dinner. We love meatloaf. the meatloaf we had...here was the best we had ever tried. Ground beef, some brisket, and some pieces of sweet sausages... it was great... We had great service...all else was fine... if we are in the area again some day... we will be backMore

I had the turkey with filling. My husband had fried haddock. Neither one of us enjoyed our meal. I would say a frozen dinner would be better.

Great surprise! We stopped here last minute and got in 15 minutes before closing to get take out after a 10 hr driving day. The staff was so very nice and the food was excellent. Great little country style restaurant with cute gift area as...well (we made a little dent there while we were waiting for our takeout). We would definitely stop again if we are in the area.More
