Delicious food

This is a favorite place of my son who is a student at Dickinson College. He’s had takeout before and this was his first time eating at the restaurant. He recommended The Riddle which is egg and cheese breakfast sandwich with a fried chicken breast and boom boom sauce. We also added bacon to that delicious concoction. We had an order of tater tots. Everything was delicious!! They also have a dessert case. Our server Samantha, who was very friendly and helpful, recommended the Salted Caramel Vanilla Crunch Cake. It was awesome!! They have Coke products. There’s a parking lot. We look forward to trying more items on the menu and more salted caramel cake!!

Great Sandwiches

Bill and his staff always provide a great sandwich and will customize to your palate. The breakfast sandwiches are outstanding (3 Little Pigs is my favorite) and the lunch time fare is delicious as well.

Southside Billy and the Carlisle Jukes

This was my first time to this restaurant which took me a while to find since the original location on South Street is closed but still listed on TripAdvisor which was the first juke move of the trip. I have since requested that it be labeled as Closed on the site. Of course, when I drove to B Street the street sign was missing! Another Carlisle juke move of further deception ... you can’t make this stuff up. Inside it is a simple place with a very large white board /Sharpie marker menu and enough tables to seat about 18-20 people. Note they have one of the newer credit card machines at the counter where you need to enter a tip amount then sign. My order was a Large (12”) roast beef sandwich and side of tater tots ($3). I had asked if the turkey was fresh or processed and was told by the owner, Billy Barnett it was processed however the roast beef was cooked in house. The better choice was to go with a fresh product. What I Liked: - $1 off a sandwich Tuesday! - The roast beef was very tender and a little red so not over cooked, very good overall. - The shredded lettuce was cold and crisp, and the tomato slices cold making for a fresh tasting sandwich - There were 28-30 tater tots in the serving which was a value. They were very crisp and moist inside. What I Did Not Like: - I was told by Billy that the large sub roll was 12” and later found out it was at best 8-9” - The sandwich had diced Bermuda onions on it which I did not order but later found out Billy put in on the list of items for the sandwich in error - The horseradish sauce was more on the mayonnaise side then horseradish side - The tater tots were very salty. Two hours after I ate them my mouth still had a strong salt taste in it. My Prime Minister of Beef rating is 7.8/10 Moo’s landing this place at the #8 spot of the 22 places I have had beef at in the Carlisle area since February 2019. My overall rating placed this restaurant at #55 of the 99 restaurants I have eaten at in the Carlisle area since February 2019.

Disappointed

What am I missing? I have tried this deli several times, hoping I just had a bad menu item but every time I’m disappointed. Ordered catering from here and all the subs were wrapped with toppings directly on the sub and then refrigerated - resulting in mushy lettuce and soggy bread. The rolls did not taste very fresh. The meat, however, was very fresh and shaved thin. Sub overall was not good. Cookies were not fresh baked but pre-packed commercial. Would not order from here again.

Placed carry-out order for family. Ready in 10 minutes. All agreed meal was good but not great. Would have used on-line ordering but required an item family member did not want. Convenient location.

Tater Tots!

Another great meal

I was out with a friend today and we couldn't decide what to do for lunch and so we decided to come here since we have always had a great experience there. I'm glad we did. I got an Italian sub and it was yet again a good one. My friend had a Roast Beef sandwich with au jus which the guy who runs the store recommended. It looked really good. My friend said that he would defiantly like to have that sandwich again. It was over all a really nice meal and yet another wonderful experience. We will defiantly keep coming back

I’ve been there for two meals today. For breakfast I had a sausage egg and cheese sandwich with a coffee and it was great! Then for lunch I came back with my wife and mom and had the lobster bisque, while my mom had a tuna salad on rye and my wife had their three little pigs sandwich. Everything was great! Will be our new morning spot.

Possibly my favorite new spot in Carlisle. I got a footling Italian sub and my wife got a chicken bacon ranch sandwich and both are great! The tater tots are crunchy and delicious too!! I enjoyed my meal very much. The folks working here are top notch!

Great local find on long road trip

We were driving through this adorable town, actually looking for a different place we had seen on TripAdvisor. Let me just say I'm so glad we never found that spot. It was lunch time and from the scene it looks like this deli is popular with locals. We split a Cheese Steak and the little one had an enormous hot dog. Also, some local chips. Where we're from you call any cheese steak a "Philly" Cheese steak but I imagine that's not cool when you're actually in PA. It was the best one I've ever had.. Including one long ago actually in Philly. My husband thinks the bread made the sandwich. It comes from a local bakery and is perfectly firm and soft at the same time. I think it was the whole kit-and-caboodle- the perfectly seasoned meat, cheese, peppers and bread. Anyway it was just a pleasant experience altogether. I believe the owner rang us up and he was super pleasant. You can tell the pride and hard work that goes into running the establishment.
