I had read mostly good reviews about this restaurant, so we chose to dine here on the last of our vacation in the Poconos, even though it was a good distance from where we were staying. My husband and I must have hit this place...on a really bad night, our experience was not good at all. We came on a Friday evening, with a six o’clock reservation, and our dinner went until eight, with no drinks, coffee, or dessert. There was only one very friendly waitress who was quite unavailable, because she was handling the whole place by herself. To say the least, the service from start to finish, was nominal, with a long wait for our appetizers, dinner, and we even waited some time for our check. A bigger problem than the poor service, was the quality of the food we were served. I ordered fried calamari, which was terrible. It was fried for so long that that the outside was hard, and way too crunchy. Consequently, the calamari inside was dried out, much of it had cooked down to nothing. What did remain was barely visible, and tough and chewy. The waitress never came to check to see if we were enjoying our appetizers, so I could not send it back. I told her as she simultaneously cleared away the appetizers with one hand, and served our dinners with the other. She apologized, and offered to have the calamari done over, but I asked her to take it off our bill, since I had my dinner in front of me. I ordered the beef tenderloin, which I heard her tell another customer later, could have been served with my choice of mushrooms, blue cheese, onion strings, or any combination there of. I wish she had asked me what I wanted, I forgot after she told us all of the specials of the night. I ordered my meat-medium rare, but it came out medium-well, with only a tiny circle of pink in the middle. I did not say anything, because I had complained about the calamari earlier, and the steak was tender enough, with a nice flavor. My baked potato was not fresh from the oven, it had been re-heated, it was very dry and not even hot enough to melt the butter. My husband said he liked his appetizer of Fresh Fig and Goat Cheese Wrapped in Prosciutto, but the Summer Chicken Parmesan he ordered for dinner was disappointing. He felt the chicken could have been juicier and more tender. There was not much spaghetti served with it, and no vegetable. When the waitress hastily came over to ask us how we liked our meal, we told her it was fine, but honestly, it was not great at all. We skipped coffee and dessert, because our dinner experience had not been anything to linger over. Instead, we went to a place for coffee and dessert on the way to the resort we were staying at.More

This was the second time we went to this restaurant and we will definitely return. I had a scallop special that was wonderful. We sat in a room with only one other table and a pleasant fireplace. It is a restored farmhouse, I believe and...has intimate tables in small rooms. Delightful.More

We are local to this area but had not yet tried this particular place. We were warmly greeted by Gail the owner who gave us a little history of the Inn. The place is beautiful and is reminiscent of how the Poconos were back in...the day. The menu had a nice varied assortment for all palates. We had the salmon and shrimp. The food was deliciously prepared by chef owner Marty. Being in the business myself for many years and having eaten at some of the finest restaurants I can honestly say that My Daughter's Place ranks among the best! Thank you Marty and Gail. I will be back soon!More

We saw signs for this place for years but finally went because of the T/A reviews. Glad we did. Great owners. Delicious food and the kitchen adapted some items to conform to my wife’s diet. Beautiful setting. This is also a B&B And they were...doing a weekend murder mystery for the guests. Sounds neat!More

We had 2 awesome breakfasts here fit for a king! Fresh coffee, orange juice, hot muffins, eggs, sausage and home made waffles. Dinner was fresh salads, shrimp and pasta first night and chicken and pasta in scampi sauce with sun dried tomatoes the second night....Service was exceptional! Warm, kind and friendly staff! Dinner was so good Friday night we set up reservations for Saturday too!More

This restaurant was one of the best I’ve been to. The food was delicious. Each dish that was brought out amazed me. There is a reason the menu is small and rotates, no matter what you get it will be worth it. The chef has...been cooking for a very long time and travels to get new ideas of what to cook. Cozy and enjoyable atmosphere. Will be back to try new dishes.More

We have passed this place for year and on a TripAdvisor whim went for dinner. This is a cozy relaxing place to be I believe they try their best the food was good but decor and visual dressing of this place may make run for...the hills, scratch that you are in the hills. LMAO Would I go back? probably they have potential besides you don't have many options.More
