Nice local place with good food and great prices. French toast needed no syrup as very flavorful alone. Huge plate of food for basic eggs bacon and toast choice as well. Very friendly people and comfortable seating.

Hubby and I stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. The place has been around a while so it can use a bit of an update BUT the waitresses are great, and the food is very good. Sitting in the booth and checking out the decor reminds you of an eatery of many years ago. It's like stepping back in time although prices reflect the inflation that we are all dealing with today. We both enjoyed the hot meatloaf sandwiches and the home fries. We plan to return and try the Eggs Benedict that they only offer on the
weekend. Our waitress checked on us regularly too.

My husband and I stopped for breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. Got a standard breakfast of eggs, meat, potatoes, and bread. I asked for crispy bacon, and it was perfect. There was a good helping of fried potatoes, which I could not finish. My husband had the sausage and my extra potatoes. All was very good. Nice retro feel and great staff.

This morning my wife and I stopped for breakfast at Country Kitchen, off on Rt 8, on the outskirts of Butler. The restaurant has a giant Humpty-Dumpty egg on their roof, so you know the place has gotta be good, right? And it was!! Great local breakfast joint, with wonderful service, at reasonable prices! Seriously, what more could you ask for?

The name is my interpersonal because it's within a mile of home. It's certainly no reflection on the quality of the food or the service.

We decided to try their dinners since they are now opened until 7:00 p.m. My husband had the lasagna special. He said it was excellent!! He rated it above the local Italian restaurants for taste and amount served. I had their gyro sandwich and I must say they have the best gyro's in the area. The server was pleasant and service was GREAT! Will definitely return here for another early dinner. We come here frequently for breakfast or lunch. Never had a bad meal.

The good and service here is amazing. The cleanliness of the diner is suspect. The place is just really old and broke. It desperately needs remodeling. 3 kids meals and 2 regular meals were $37.10 with out the tip. Had the hot turkey sandwich and the mushroom burger.

stop here every so often for breakfast and should do it more often. I had steak n eggs w/ home fries and toast all for $8. I even took a pic which I never do. This is real life country kitchen, not some metro diner that someone slapped a sign on to attract the hip crowd. real food served by real people. Don't be surprised if everyone eating looks at you a little strange at first, it is mainly because no one but locals have ever found this place. Worth the visit, come hungry.

I went here with a few friends after a wedding weekend. The food is priced well and portions are good. The only problem we ran into is with a large party (we had five) there is little room to accommodate since about half the dining area is booth seating. The server was busy so she wasn't super friendly but we wanted for almost nothing. It seemed like a spot many locals frequent.

I stopped at the Country Kitchen for the first time as I was traveling through the area looking for a small, local restaurant to stop and eat at. I visited between lunch and dinner and the restaurant was not very busy.
Pros:
* Waitress was very attentive to my beverage and offered necessary condiments prior to my order arriving. She checked on me several times during my meal to see how the food was. Staff was pleasant and interacting with customers.
* Food was cooked fresh and served hot and cooked to order. The ordered the hamburger and the portion size of the fresh-cut fries for an additional $1.50 was very large.
* Large amount of seating available for busy times.
This cafe is housed in an older building and not very attractive. There are potholes to maneuver in the parking lot.
Bottom Line: If you are looking for a small, family-oriented restaurant to eat on your way on Route 8 south of Butler, I would recommend the Country Kitchen. The food and service were worth the stop.

I worked at the "C.K." while in high school, some 45 years ago. Needless to say it has not only changed owners and menus, but decor, atmosphere and food as well. I had stopped in several years ago, but was extremely disappointed and distraught with the condition of the place, the cleanliness, and the entire experience. I must say the current owners have cleaned the place up and made an attempt at some decor. My two granddaughters joined me for lunch and we arrived around 1:30 PM. The restaurant was quite busy with a variety of families, couples, and individuals.. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. We ordered pancakes, onion rings, cheese sticks, loaded fries and drinks. The food was all very good, hot and tasty. I love onion rings and cheese sticks, and both were some of the best I've ever enjoyed, although the marinara sauce was bland. Our wait person was pleasant enough, but quite rushed and frazzled. We were pleasantly surprised with our meals and will return soon.
