We visited Jean Bonnet Tavern on a Saturday night. We had reservations, however the restaurant was extremely crowded and though we did have a short wait the staff was very kind and accommodating. The food was excellent, all five people in our group were satisfied with their meals. There were a wide range of beer and wine choices and the... More

I had the pleasure of discovering this great place via a sorority sister who lives in Pittsburgh. It was great two years ago and it's still great on my return visit on October 21, 2016. I had the prime rib which was cooked (medium rare) to perfection and extremely flavorful. It was very tender to the point of being able... More

We came here for my sister's birthday dinner. My sister lives in Altoona and has eaten here before and loves it! Tonight was no exception. The food was incredible, the service was excellent and the ambiance is quiet and cozy. When arriving be sure to say hi to the billy goat to the side of the restaurant. He's very gentle... More

Enjoyed a delicious dinner for two at this historic tavern. The filet with roast cauliflower and the scallops with pesto and orzo were great. Service was prompt and capable. The bartender actually visited the table to make sure the scotch drinker had water, ice and a separate glass for his single malt.

I travel the Pennsylvania Turnpike quite a bit for work. If I'm in the Bedford area, I stop at the Jean Bonnet for dinner. The food is always good, prices are a little higher than average. The fall menu selection is fantastic, their squash bisque is one of my favorites. They have a decent tap selection and their staff is... More

We had a great lunch in the downstairs dining area. It feels like you step back in time with the pewter dinnerware and beamed ceiling. The butternut squash bisque was divine, you must have it! Don't forget to check out the cabin gift shop. I felt like we were on vacation.

My husband and I came for dinner and ate in the tavern/bar area, which has the same menu as the dining room. We both ordered the same items from the October Features menu - Butternut Squash Bisque and Fried Pierogies. The food was fabulous! The atmosphere was casual and friendly; the service was great. The restaurant was busy; the Tavern... More

The food is amazing and service devine. We had their French Onion Soup and Butternut Squash Bisque which both were the best we had ever eaten. The staff was so accommodating they even gave us a printed copy of the squash recipe which I am making for Thanksgiving. You won't be sorry, and will really miss out if you are... More

We had a delicious dinner here on our trip across Pennsylvania's section of the Lincoln Highway. It's a delightful two story tavern that has a bed and breakfast on the third story. We were seated nearly immediately even though the place was packed. Our server was polite and attentive. I'd visit here again if in the area and I definitely... More
