We stopped for dinner, they had the restaurant booths taped off so we sat in the bar. A lot better atmosphere, more lighting. The one restaurant around that is actually warm inside, temperature wise. Halibut fish and chips are good. Presentation of the food was excellent. Love it when the chef/cook shows they care about their product. For that reason alone they... More

Buy one get one free burgers! You cannot go wrong, especially when they taste so good. We also got one of their specialty milkshakes which did not disappoint. Cozy restaurant, certainly nothing fancy... but it was a nice change for us. Service was great.

We had been on the road all day and just needed to stop, refresh and get something to eat. We pulled in here because it was there, and with room to park the RV. Old 50s music was playing, a little too loud. It was kind of cold inside. The waitress was pleasant. The food was pretty good, nothing special... More

Prime Rib was ok, green beans great, cozy place where we enjoyed time w/each other. The one Waitress was overwhelmed and could hardly spend any time answering any menu questions we had. Decent amount of food served for the price.

Looking for a nosh after a hike up in the hills and wandered onto this shack. I'll admit we were attracted to the nondescript exterior of this sprawling, old-school building -mostly cause it looked like it had character. Our hunch was right. The vibe up in the front room felt overly stuffy and claustrophobic, but the back bar was like... More

We were liking for a place to stop when riding motorcycle from bend to Portland. By luck we stop here. Not fancy, went to bar. Wow, fantastic fish and chips! Real meaty halibut. Not greasy or heavy battled. Very perfectly done fries, and great ale on tap. Will stop again

Yup! The Barlow Trail Roadhouse is superb on many levels. Here is a check list I use when sorting out restaurants; Food--try the spaghetti, it rivals the plates and plates of spaghetti I devoured in my multiple trips to Italy. (Check). Service-- The waitress was top notch, very friendly and very prompt. (Check). Location-- You just can't beat a stop... More

My husband and I were up before dawn to photograph and enjoy sunrise on Lake Trillium. We we chilled, grungy and hungry. We each ordered an enormous breakfast and hot coffee, and were cured. Their hash browns were so good - super crispy outside and moist inside. I had something like biscuits and gravy, but with eggs and sausage also.... More

My wife and I were staying locally and decided to have some lunch before we went exploring. We pulled in to the Barlow Trail Roadhouse. We are both senior citizens and frequently request that an order be split between us, as it was with a Prime Rib French Dip sandwich. One side of potato salad came with the sandwich, and we... More

We love this place. They have the best Chicken Fried Steak ever. We order one and take half home every time it is that big. The hash browns are awesome too. The service is always great. Great atmosphere too.

An authentic log cabin rich in history and legends, The Barlow Trail Roadhouse dates back to 1926 and is loved by everyone who visits. Locals, travelers and tourists alike have made this restaurant one of their favorite gathering places.
The Barlow Trail Inn was built by the legendary William “Bill” Lenz, and named after the famous toll road constructed by Sam Barlow. The building originally served as a general store, and nine months later became The Barlow Trail Inn. The local inn had the reputation of having the “Best Food on the Loop to Timberline” downstairs and “Best Girls” upstairs. Hence, it was a popular stop for miners coming across the Cascades, construction workers building Timberline Lodge, and the local loggers.
In 2001 the restaurant was renamed “The Territory” which did not sit well with several folks. By popular demand, the building has been renamed to include the historic Barlow Trail name.
