Waiter was very accommodating! He brought out a sample of the cheese grits - great! Liked the atmosphere - we sat in the bar area.

This restaurant is interesting and very old. In fact it smells ancient. The food was adequate, but I think I like the pub food next door better.

Like most of the McMenimin's spaces, The Black Rabbit is decorated in a lavish, arty style that makes you want to explore every nook and cranny. I've been for both dinner and brunch and loved my meal each time and they are good at accommodating dietary restrictions. They are good at accommodating groups as well. If you go for dinner... More

We ate lunch at the Black Rabbit and then walked the premises of this historic establishment. We ate cioppino and a green vegetable curry - both excellent. Accommodating for GF. On our walk we stopped at the glass blowing studio, the winery, and the garden. They hold concerts in a pavilion area, and one can stay in the hotel. A... More

I thought I would go to the Black Rabbit for lunch. It was about 3:30 PM last Monday when I arrived at Edgefield. The restaurant section of The Black Rabbit was closed, but the Black Rabbit Bar adjacent to it was open. It was their happy hour that runs from 3 PM to 6 PM on week days, perhaps this... More

With a dinner bill over $200 for a group of four, I would have expected more. Smallish portions and a wait staff that seemed a bit inexperienced. With the prices they have I would have expected more. Food was OK, but my steak was nothing to remember and the "boar" tasted like most any other pork shoulder roast. We wanted... More

Perfect meeting spot for friends. We started out with breakfast. The omelet special of asparagus and Gruyere was complimented by the rye toast with homemade jam. The coffee was so delicious, we purchased some beans to take home to the east coast. We also sampled the homemade blackberry muffin - not too sweet and moist! After breakfast we walked the... More

Good looking restaurant, big seating capacity. Had breakfast, lunch, and dinner there. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Service was lacking, except waitress at lunch. She was invested in our experience, helping to inform us on what to see and where things were. All in all, an average experience.

The drawback was the wait staff was not attentive and we had to wait for our bread until our main course arrived to get it, we never saw our waiter except when he came to see to the other table who obviously bought several bottles of wine (most likely tipping big) after they left we never saw him again, we... Love! Their black rabbit burger is amazing, but I think their French toast in the morning is my favorite!!
