We didn’t get here early enough for the ribs- they were sold out! Not that we need an excuse to stop again—- this BBQ was great! I had the pulled pork sandwich, but also tried the chicken and brisket- which were all fantastic! The sides...were also really tasty! We had the calico beans, bow tie pasta, and potato salad which I wish I could get recipes for them all! Very nice couple helped us at the food trailer. We will definitely come back soon!More
If you are from a small town, like The Dalles, you know the food choices are limited. This particular food truck is one of the best in town. You can't ever go wrong with BBQ pulled pork or brisket, the sides are amazing, the sauce...is excellent, but mostly the service! always with a kind word and a smile! Be sure to seek them out between 11 and 4 pm limited days. It's worth the trip!More
I stopped in the Dalles and found Good Smoke BBQ after looking around for food trucks. The staff were super friendly, the other patrons waiting for food were enthusiastic and outspoken in their praise, and my food arrive quickly. Prices are excellent. I ordered the...Pulled Pork sandwich with the potato salad. My entree was large-portioned, the ciabatta bread was a nice change of pace, and the pork was superlative. This place is a real find!More
I've been to Good Smoke about 4 times for a to-go lunch. I've had everything but the Brisket. The Chicken and Pork have been great. Skip the bun and go for just meat. I suggest getting the homemade BBQ sauces on the side. I say...sauces, because you're going to want to taste both as they are awesome. They also make excellent salads for the sides. The jalapeno potato salad is the best I've ever had. And the pasta salad comes in second. Unfortunately, I went here for lunch in early November and they have closed for the winter. I have been stopping by this food cart since they opened and was having the Pulled Pork and was very satisfied with it and just recently tried the Brisket. Wow, I was missing the boat as I have found a new favorite sandwich. The potato...salad is also very unique and very tasty.More
This is a terrific food truck. The Laymans' are awesome. I prefer the pulled pork. I haven't tried the ribs as they are only available on Saturdays. The food is heavenly but watch out for Missus' saleswomanship skills. I've been there 3 times and I'm...impressed. They have covered spots for eating, if you want to eat therein the parking lot of an outdoor mall, but, hey, that's what makes food trucks great!. Today I found out they had new choices: smoked chicken, and even an Asian smoked chicken salad. I grabbed that salad. I loved it, you can't possibly go wrong with Asian chicken salad, but I missed the piquant cilantro and slivered almonds that usually go with the dish. Even a tablespoon or two of crushed Top Ramen would go a long way with the texture. And they used breast. If they do smoked chicken, it's better to use dark meat. The breast was immediately dry and lacked the flavor I would have gotten with dark meat. I'll see if the dish evolves. If it doesn't, I'll go back to the pulled pork. Because I will always go back. And always ask for bbq sauce. Missus might say there's already bbq sauce, this sauce is fantastic for adding additional flavor to your dish, or for adding flavor to a dish you'll make yourself.
