We were here 4 years ago and liked it, but just returned under the new management and Wow! Amazing food, great service, hands down the best in Sunriver. Don't get me wrong - we love the brewing company, bar and grill, etc but the food and service here are heads and shoulders above. Our somewhat picky kids were happy here... More

Played golf with a member at Crosswater and he said the South Bend Bistro in Sunriver village was the best place in the whole resort. My oh my what great salmon and halibut we had. The salmon was a menu regular but the halibut was a seasonal special. Wife and I wanted both so we shared them. Topped it off... More

We had a wonderful dinner on their deck. There are new owners this past year but still great food. We all had the pistachio encrusted halibut with pesto gnocchi. Delicious flavors and the halibut almost melted in your mouth. Great attentive service also. I am a big water drinker and they took great care of me. We will be back... More

We tried this restaurant this past week and thought the food was delicious. It is only a dinner house. I had the pistachio crusted halibut and my husband tried the steak. Both entrees very well prepared with interesting side veggies. It was also nice to know that this restaurant is managed with employees from the old Trout House - a... More

This restaurant really surprised us. We were expecting a very casual type of dinner. We had a great upscale dinner. Don't come if you're in a hurry. They give you plenty of time between courses. Also you need to make a reservation!

Sunriver has plenty of perfectly fine options for burgers, pizza, and standard fare but few if any fine dining options. South Bend Bistro has changed that. This is food for people who really care about food. The ingredients are fresh, the presentation is inventive, and the preparation and taste just brilliant. The sauces are flavorful without being heavy, so they... More

Keep in mind that Sunriver in August is a vacation Mecca for families Most of the restaurant in the Village have to cater to families, large groups and kids running around. There are the ubiquitous brewing company places with giant hamburgers and fries. They serve their purpose and I eat at two of them and was satisfied. The Bistro is... More

This is such a great addition to Sun River dining...Everything we ordered with our guests was so awesome...Halibut, razor clams, salads, desserts...wanted more! The wine list was top notch, and everyone that served the cozy outdoor tables did so as if we were the only ones there.. Really enjoyed the evening, and hats off to the owner..a great guy that... We had dinner and I ordered the charcuterie plate which was great. I recommend the truffle cheese, tomato jam, proscuitto and fennel salami. The pasta dish with cream sauce, shrimp and languistinos was great too! A little on the spendy side but good service and food.

Wonderful place to sit on the deck and enjoy a summertime dinner. Wait staff very friendly and accomodating. Menu has a wide variety. One could have a salad and Tapas, or just the entree. Or all of the above. Excellent cocktails. Extensive wine list and local microbrews on the menu. A bit pricey, but after all it is Sunriver. I... More
