This was the first time we could not give our favorite fish and chip stand 5-stars. Tasted like they needed to change the fryer oil. Fish pieces were small and over fried. We always share the 5-piece tuna basket, this time they gave us 6 pieces as they were very small.
Worth paying .25 for extra tarter,

Great little takeout place in Seaside. They serve fabulous fish tacos and tuna fish and chips perfectly cooked (not too dry at all) and excellent fries. The food was cooked to order and was nice and hot. We appreciated being able to drive through and wait in our car rather than standing outside at the Bowpicker. We WILL be back!

We came on Wednesday 7/28 right before they opened at 11 am. The place is literally a small hut you drive up to like a drive thru to order your food. We knew we found the right place when there was a UPS and Boar's Head driver waiting for them to open.
We got the 5 piece fish & chips for $12, such excellent value. The batter was exceptional - so crunchy. I always ate tuna raw on sushi but this was REALLY good. AND such great value for $12. I am hungry thinking about it right now!

This has always been a "must go to" place when we visit Astoria. On this visit we attempted to go one time on our way north as we passed through Seaside, but 101 was so incredibly busy, we couldn't make a left turn and the lines were too long anyway. We returned the next day when they opened. The gentleman that helped us was very polite and helpful and directed us to a nice place overlooking the bay to enjoy our fish dinners. The food was all hot and the fish was crispy and flaky as it always has been. We returned again 2 days later and it was completely different. I don't know if the fish had been pre-cooked and sitting for awhile or if it was just overcooked, or if it was just bad fish, but both of our meals were terrible. All 10 fish pieces in our 2 large meals were dry and chewy. You could see the the dryness just looking at it. Within an hour, we were miserable with stomach cramps. $22 for this experience was not acceptable and as much as I've loved it in the past, this one experience was a game changer. Sadly, we won't be back. Stars are based on an average of the two visits this trip.

Absolutely Horrible customer service!!! Waited in line for 50 minutes, then when I pulled up to the window to place my order at 6:59pm, (they close at 7:00). The worker saw me pull up to the window, shut the window and looked at me, then walked away. I thought she might be busy with another customer, so I waited another 10 mins at the window, with her looking directly at my at least 5 different times. At no time did she bother to open the window and tell me they were now closed. She literally ignored us at the window for 10 mins. There were also about 12 cars in line on both sides one i got to the window, and the same thing happened to them- they were just ignored and sat there wondering what was going on. Poor management and poor workers! I will NEVER go here again, which would have been my first time. Like they say, a first experience can be a make or break, and this was definitely a break. I would not recommend this “local” business that relies and survives heavily on tourism. Go to Buoy’s Best if you want great fish and chips- they are simply the best, and have awesome customer service.

We stopped in here on a recommendation from the owner of The Whet Spot (another great establishment). Delicious fish and chips; my boyfriend, who doesn't really love fish, couldn't stop talking about it. The batter was crunchy and the fish was delicious. We got a large and it was plenty of food for two. Probably the best fish and chips we've ever eaten on the coast. Enjoy!

I live in Portland and I sometimes drive to the Seaside so I can have these fresh crispy light flavorful Fish and Chips. I think the guy from Arizona still had sand in his mouth. These are not greasy and have the unexpected flavor of the fresh tuna caught off our coast. Cooked to order and always a line that moves quickly. Yes it's off the highway, so you drive 2 blocks to the beach and eat it there on one of the benches and watch the waves, or on one of their little picnic tables. Going today as I haven't had some in months. Only 1.5 hours from Portland. Yay Grizzly Tuna!

Every time we come to the northern Oregon coast this is a must stop for lunch. They're usually busy, but the line always moves fast and the food is always fresh and hot. The portions are large and filling, and the tuna is fresh, firm, and tasty, something the owners and employees seem to take great pride in. 5+ stars

Several people had recommended Grizzly Tuna’s fish and chips, so we decided to give it a try. It is a drive-through stand with service on either side. It looks like it might have originally been a coffee stand. When we arrived, there were several cars lined up, so we decided not to wait. At a store down the road, we were told by an employee that the service was fast, and the food was great, so we circled back. This time we were the only customers. Just as we had been told it didn’t take long to get our fish and chips from a friendly young lady, who apparently is the only one on-site. They use tuna for the fish, which is one reason we wanted to eat here. We have had tuna fish and chips before and loved it. While this fish was good, it was not great. The tuna is sliced a thinner than halibut or cod in regular fish and chips. The breading is very crispy, but the fish was a little dry. If you’re passing by, it is worth a stop. We thought the pricing was reasonable.

Travelers who rate this place 4 and 5 stars must have been very hungry or they just ate the french fries ( which were great)! The fish ( tuna) was like old fashioned overcooked fish sticks from my childhood. Didn’t like it then and don’t like it now. There were 8 of us that ate- 1 had fish tacos which she said were good- the other 7 of us were in total agreement that this was not good. There’s 2 little tables along a noisy highway so we opted for a nearby park. Lucky for us the seagulls were hungry so the food didn’t totally go to waste.

My husband and I thought we would give it a try. It was delicious!! I'm sure we will take a drive to the coast sooner than expected just to have the tuna and chips again. i was a little concerned when lemon wedges were not given but the tartar sauce has a citrusy taste and it worked with the fish perfectly.

We ordered two large orders and an order of tacos. Price point is great for the large order of tuna ($ 12 for a large order). Price point for the tacos is just ok ($ 8 for two tacos). We have been eating up and down the Oregon coast - Bowpicker, Sea barron etc. (see reviews elsewhere) for great fish & chip. Had high expectation for this place.... Well, tacos are good but really messy and little fish. The main event, though, is a disappointment. The fish was way, way over-fried.... Crunchy to the point of in-edible. The fish, obviously fresh, did not shine through... Big miss.

Grizzly Tuna is a drive up tuna fish and chips place in the middle of Seaside which makes a pretty good meal. Very similar to the many drive up coffee places one finds in the PNW. Very simple menu. 2 sizes of fish and chips or tacos. For something different (not used to tuna fish and chips), the fish came out golden and good. Fries were good too. Staff greets you with a smile. Don't just drive by, drive on up to get some good tuna.

This was our lunch stop as we began our drive back home at the end of vacation. We ordered fish and chips and fish tacos. The fish tacos were great, I can't say enough about them and this is what I recommend here! As for the fish portion of the fish and chips, I thought it was solidly average; it was not bad and I would try it again. Perhaps being tuna and not the 'typical' cod or halibut will throw one's expectations off. As for the fries, if you did a blind taste test between them and McDonald's, you would not be able to tell the difference. For us, that was not a big deal but at the same time, I would expect a little better from a small stand.

This is a drive-up stand in Seaside, and the tuna fish and chips was delicious. They have lots of sauces, and all were delicious, as well. I was tempted by the fish tacos, but tuna fish and chips are somewhat less available, so I'm glad I went with the fish and chips.
