Placed my order online at 8:45 a.m. on a Friday. We arrived, told them we were waiting for our order, and then waited. And waited. When we hadn't received our order by 9:15, I asked the employee for an update. We got our 3 bagels...about 7 minutes later. When I asked what happened, the employee apologized and said "they didn't have a cinnamon raisin bagel, so they skipped the order because they were slammed." Um, what?? And that was it. I'm guessing that was a one-off situation, but they should've made it right - with a discount, free bagel, SOMETHING. Thirty-five+ minutes for 3 bagels is unacceptable. For what it's worth, the bagels were tasty. But I wouldn't go back.More

Bagels are good, got an open-faced avocado in a plain bagel, just to test it out. However, you can’t avoid waste there because they don’t allow you to use your own cup. Something related to “they can’t pour the coffee on your cup”. The obit...you see is after I did it myself.More

The bagels here are delicious, and the breakfast sandwich I had was perfect. The coffee was good, too!

Wanting something different from the hotel breakfast, I decided to get a bagel sandwich out. Bagels by the Sea is a nice little cafe style restaurant. Very nice decor and I think it was probably a former bank. The meeting room is in an old...vault. The staff was very nice in spite of the chaos with their POS system down. I ordered the brunch bagel. Very good bagel with bacon, avocado, tomato among other things. Bagels by the Sea is a good alternative to a fast food or typical hot breakfast at a hotel.More

I like the location in an old bank on the edge of downtown. Large assortment of fresh bagels and really good coffee. Everyone in our group of 12 found something they liked including bagel sandwiches and bagel pizza. Very friendly service. Average prices for good...sized bagels. Plenty of space to sit inside.More

I walked in wanting to get a few everything bagels to slather with some salmon cream cheese. It seemed weird that they actually charge .25 per bagel to cut them for you, but I would rather not lose any fingers! Fresh and delicious, that's my...verdict-and even the day or two old ones I brought home still tasted great! This place was made for bagel-lovers!More

Totally changed :( We’ve gone here for years & absolutely loved it. Could tell as soon as we pulled up, things have changed: new sign outside was a giveaway. Upon entering, huge line with only one cashier. Cashier was on the phone taking an order,...not helping people in line. Customers in line all looked annoyed. One employee quickly trying to complete coffee orders while another employee standing around looking confused. The only thing I saw this employee do for the 10 minutes I was in line was throw away a paper towel. The decor has been nicely updated. I googled & learned the place has been sold “but the same quality” will be ensured. Umm no. The menu might be the same & the decor and lighting updated & pretty, but I left after two customers were obviously upset their orders were wrong. Drove down the road to Wanda’s. Highly recommend avoiding Bagels by the Sea. Very bad the new owners don’t know what they’re doing.More

I wanted a single bagel which I had so many options to choose from. The Bacon/Cheddar bagel was a great selection. When I asked them to add the cream cheese, I had enough for a 2nd bagel. It was great.

I ordered a Harvest Turkey on whole wheat and it was scrumptious. Vern ordered a standard sandwich with lean pastrami. He enjoyed it as well. We had a mango smoothie, excellent. Good staff. Previously a bank, check out the vault.

The 1 star is for the food. It’s delicious. Loyalty, however, means nothing at this restaurant to the manager. When she’s NOT there, I get treated with way more respect and familiarity. I can only imagine she gets the training from the owners, since they...issue punch cards “buy 10 get 1 free” for the value of half a bagel. The fact that my lunch bagel, which I used to get every day they were open, went from $10.50 to $15.00 in a day was infuriating to me. On top of the credit card up charge, the signature bagel up charge, and the avocado up charge, I now just pay $4 extra for my sandwich. Which, mind you, comes with HALF an avocado, at most, and the lox are spared. I understand the summer time need to get $$ as a restaurant. I even understand the cost of inflation and how it affects the entire menu. However, when it comes to serving your local customers, you should always try to make them happy. When I went on Sunday or Monday, I was able to get my bagel for $13.50. The “manager” or supervisor said, “oh, yea this is Ari right? You get this every day”. She graciously substituted the tomato, to which I am allergic, to their sparse avocado. Instead of charging me an extra $2 for avocado. I tipped them close to 50% for working with me, in expectation that I would continue to receive this kindness for my loyalty. That was not the case today. I don’t go out of my way to write a review unless some serious injustice was done. Not only was I refused the kindness, I was treated with disrespect by the manager, who didn’t care to lose my business. They’re thriving over up charging tourists right now, and that shows in their attitude. I tried my best to have a conversation with the woman about common courtesy in the service industry in a local community like ours, and she didn’t even pretend to care or listen. Continually interrupting me saying they didn’t raise the prices enough! If your distributor inflates THAT much on you (which is a huge inflation across their menu), you need to find someone new to work with. I hope the kind people that were courteous enough to me don’t get thrown under the bus for this incident. The issue is with the unseen management and how it comes across to their customers. Owners, get involved. Teach your leaders common courtesy and customer service. Stop screwing the locals. I know I’m not the only one upset with you, and it’s not just over this case of inflation. I will not be returning, and I’ll be actively discouraging the rest of the local community from supporting your business. I hope this can be resolved, but you have to show some consideration and damage control on your part. If things don’t change, you’ll be written off in the winter time… I guarantee it.More

The staff here are all extremely friendly, the restaurant is nice, the bagels are big and the seeded types are covered in seeds or other toppings. The bagels are only OK though. Big soft and doughy, rather than chewy. At $2 per bagel, a bit...on the high side. They charge $2 per cream cheese spread on the bagel. That would be fine except, compared to other places where the cheese squeezes out, they are a bit stingy on the amount. Only fresh bagel place in Seaside so will probably go again.More

My wife ordered the eggle bagel, I ordered the Santa Fe. Both had a good portion of eggs plus other fresh toppings. Bigger than I was expecting for the price. Only drawback-they charge you for a cup of water.
