Macedonia has been a favorite Salem restaurant of ours for more than 10 years. It has a healthy, fresh menu with excellent service and reasonable prices.

For really excellent Greek cuisine you would need to go to Portland, but, as this is the only place in Salem specializing in Greek food, it is certainly far better than nothing. There are a number of Greek dishes on the menu, and several sampler plates (vegetarian as well as meat based). Beer/wine selections are minimal. Service is friendly and... More

It is in a historic building that has been converted to a mall with eclectic shops. Parking is on the street and can be difficult to find. I enjoyed my sampler plate. Stuffed grape leaves were my favorite. Spanikopita was a little different than I have had in the past but I liked it. I think it might have been... More

This was a disappointment. The Greek food was far less than I have experienced in other restaurants! The service was like fast food joints and the server was not friendly. The place was empty when I was there, so the service should have been fantastic, but she appeared to not care whether we stayed or left. The place was clean,... More

In a pleasant "Mom and Pop" setting, kind folks serve lovely Greek food that's freshly prepared and always good. The sample plates with a little of the many specialties is a wonderful way to try several dishes. Service is elegant and pleasant. A lovely dining experience that isn't going to require selling a grandchild or mortgaging your house to pay... More

Good Greek food, moderate cost, prompt service. Need to go inside the Opera House venue to find it. Small selection of beer, more wine offerings and a few cocktails.

Our waitress was delightful. When my husband apologized for dropping food on the carpet, she smiled and said, "I'll take care of it. that's my job." I had the "Village Plate"; Dolmades, Spanakopita, Chicken and Lamb Kabobs, Greek Salad and Greek Potatoes followed by a most delicious Baklava. Hope we go back soon. We used to live in Detroit, MI... Had the Mediterranean platter and kaitaife? for desert. My wife had a shish kabob which was nicely sone as wellThe lady who served us also brought a complimentary baklava to try. Meal was great but deserts were superb. Not sickenly sweet as they can be in some restaurants but fresh and flavorful. Highly recommend

The food is fresh and delicious. I always opt for the Greek, but they have Italian too. The room is attractive, able to have a quiet conversation with no accompanying noise, music etc. If you want a relaxing lunch or dinner, this is the place. It is family run and always welcoming and courteous. Not open Sundays.
