Had drinks and wings before my friends’ band performance at their upstairs performance space. The wings were some of the best I’ve had in Portland. Smoky, juicy, and not greasy. The blue cheese sauce was very good too. Good selection of local beers. Service could...have been a little more attentive, but it was a busy Friday night. The upstairs performance space was interesting. A good size for an intimate performance. Sound was good.More

This place is totally PDX - went there on a Friday night and it was pretty busy. The fire pit out back is pretty cool. The service was good, but others would probably say it was really slow as we had to wait a long...time for our server to come to our table (we weren't in a hurry so that was fine). The food was good too, limited menu, which again I like. The cocktails however were not great. My friend and I tried 4 different drinks and didn't like any of them, so unfortunately we probably won't ever go back.More

Giving a very generous 4 (significant other wanted to give a 3). It's an interesting space with the brick. Nothing to rave about but decent cocktails. We came here for their 3rd yr anniversary. The service was ok (nothing stands out, but courteous nonetheless). The...drinks have potential (can't complain about the drinks themselves), but the bartenders need to care about it. If you want to consider yourself a high end cocktail location - details matter. For instance, my significant other had a cracked glass (he ordered the Firefly) and my glass had a chip in it (I got some gin cinnamon drink). There's lots of competition in Portland, folks in Bit House need to pay attention. I expected a little more oomph regarding the menu (especially for their anniversary), but I guess I was just comparing it against other cocktail bars that were more memorable.More

Dropped In here on a pub crawl. This place almost seems like an old western bar. There is wood everywhere. The bar was dimmed and relatively quiet, which allowed us to talk - most welcome at this point. The bartender was not thrown by some...of our mixology requests and definitely understood some of the nuances of the local brew trade. Definitely recommend!More

I thought it was nice to sit down and they had good food. A little different, we had to get up and go to the bar to get the food for the table after we had been sitting at the table for a while. But...the were friendly and the food was goodMore

Easy to find location, multiple rooms for all sized groups, and an outdoor fireplace make this a great location to check out. They make a delicious moscow mule and highballs, as well as nutritional yeast on their fries were perfect for our dietary needs group....On a Saturday night it was busy, but we got drinks within 5 minutes at the bar, open seating on the outdoor patio, and orders taken within minutes of finding a booth. Their service was great, quick and efficient. Only issue...one stall in the ladies room and one sink. Otherwise the atmosphere of the place is a little dark and dim, good for some romance perhaps, or mood.More

Our guide at House Distillery recommended Bit House Saloon. I think she did a good job. The atmosphere and look of the place made the visit worth it. The brick walls, arches and sconces give this place the feel like a cross between a wine...cellar and a castle. The wood flooring is very pretty and goes well with the bar and shelves running up to the ceiling. When you enter the saloon, there are three distinct areas. The first thing you notice is the bar with a few tables. The second area is through the arch and to the left. It's hidden from view unless you walk over there. This is where you will find table seating and a little bit of privacy. The third area is out back. It's a covered patio with a burning fire pit. After dinner we took our drinks and sat around the fire. It was really nice. Service here is just okay. I can't say it's bad or good. They get the job done. There is a lot of waiting between server visits. Asking questions about the beers they have on tap is not helpful. I will say when the Base Camp S'more Stout came I was very impressed. A marshmallow had been fired and caramel poured over it. The melted marshmallow sat on top of the stout. It was really good. The food was average to good. The smoked chicken wings had good flavor on the outside. The ancient heritage cheese plate was okay. The toasted bread was too hard. The smoked pork plate was cooked just right. The fries as a side seemed odd, but they were good. I'm not sure I would come back for dinner. I see this place more like a hangout place to have a drink and maybe get some snacks. It's a very cool atmosphere.More

This was recommended as a great steakhouse...and yes it was. Cocktails were fabulous and the steaks were yummy. Would definitely come back here. Our server Jimmy was a super cool friendly dude.

We stopped in and were very happy. Good food and service. If it hadn't been raining I would have enjoyed the back patio more, but it's Portland and it rains sometimes.

The Bit House Saloon is a great place to stop in either just for drinks or a bite to eat in between your Portland adventures. You are welcomed by a friendly bar that awaits your attendance alongside a wall of extensive cocktail options that are...hard to refuse. We walked in during happy hour so we received some great deals on drink specials. Some cocktails you’ll read off the wall are special concoctions of the Bit House that give you the choice to create your own drink. The cocktail wall is definitely what influenced my decision to initially dine at the Bit House. Once we sat down at a table, my friend and I now had to choose what to pair with our crafty cocktails. Our waitress was very helpful in addressing her recommendations according to what we were looking for. I ordered a strawberry margarita along with the pulled pork sandwich which were both great choices. There is no need to order an appetizer with how big the portion of the pulled pork sandwich is. It was also very reasonably priced. With tip, I paid $22 for my meal and two drinks. More people deserve to know about the Bit House than the amount that have reviewed it here on TripAdvisor. It’s a quaint location that offers metered parking on a street that’s filled with various little boutiques and eateries. If visiting Portland, I recommend stopping at Bit House Saloon!More
