Have both eaten in, and taken out. Have had ribs, pulled pork and chicken. All were excellent. Friendly staff and good service. Nice to be able to eat both inside or out depending on the weather.

They use oak wood to smoke their meat and everything was tender, tasty, and best of all the meats come to you without sauce so you can add your own. Only the pulled pork had some on it which kept it moist and tender. I recommend the Pitboss combo plate with brisket, a couple of meaty St. Luis ribs, pulled... More

We had lunch at Podnah's Pit Barbecue and were genuinely pleased with the food and service. I had to go with the Brisket which is smoked for over 14 hours--and you can taste it! Tender and tasteful. With my Plato Tejano (a tip of the hat to Mexican), they bring extra sauces (in addition to the standard ones on the... More

Rated by WWeek "Portland's Best" a few years ago, the usual hipsters took about badmouthing it, but rarely for the food or service, which were both excellent. Whether it did or did not contribute to gentrification is another review. No indigenous species were sacrificed in our meal. Just a solid but varied BBQ menu with a dazzling choice of sides.... We enjoyed brunch at Podnah's on a Sunday. WOW, what a great find! Our friends chose this place based on a piece they had seen on Food Network's "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives." I enjoyed a Migas breakfast (scrambled eggs, tortilla strips, guacamole, served with potatoes, refried beans, and tortillas)--it was FANTASTIC. My husband chose Kyle's Breakfast, which is smoked... My house is 4 blocks from Podnahs. And truth be told, Podnahs is about 25% of the reason why I moved to this neighborhood and now live 4 blocks from Podnahs. However, I have to consciously limit myself as to how much I go to Podnahs...it's so good and I want to make sure I don't wear myself out. Not... More

To find this place in a secluded area in Portland suburb is amazing....not expecting this when searching for BBQ it took us through suburbs, old town, getto graffiti strewed closed falling down buildings and outside markets, but so happy to find this place. It is busy and full of people so you should call first and make sure they can... More

After having spent several days in Portland, we decided to try a Southern BBQ joint. The wait was not nearly as long as they had told us and we were seated at a table against the wall with a long wooden bench on one side and chairs on the other side. By the time dinner was over, we were wishing... More

My wife and I ordered the pit boss combination to share, added an extra side of chicken, and it was more than enough for the two of us. Food was savory, enjoyed it all, the brisket was excellent, pulled pork and chicken were good, sausage was the weakest link for me (no pun intended). Service was friendly and efficient. We... More
