For Portland I would say it's above average which the bar is pretty low as it is. If the brisket is not tough then it's a winner in Portland. This brisket was soft but could have been a little softer. Didn't taste as smokey as it should if any. Not much bark either. But it's above average. Now for the... More

Really good BBQ, and the wedge was the best. My wife loved the green Chile Mac and Cheese. If you love good brisket this melts in your mouth. Podnah's is a great place and a great value.

Wait was a bit of a bummer but it was really good. Just wish they offered the catfish more than just Friday's !! Super yummy, ribs were cooked perfect and brisket... oh yea ;).

Do not let the neighborhood or side street location deter you from this outstanding BBQ place. There is a full bar, fresh fish entrees, and outstanding ribs here.

Great BBQ pit food. It's usually bang on or a miss....its bang on in this case. No surprises. Good food, good ambiance but efficient service on the edge of being curt. Overall a success.

The Tuesday special here is ribs, which are $2 per rib ($2.75 on other days). They are the best ribs I have ever had, with a visible smoke ring and very smoky in flavour. There is a choice of house made sauces to choose from as well.

Food is good. They play this horrible music very loud. Disrupts dinner and conversation. I am sure it is bad for neighborhood businesses.

We heard about this place and decided to find it and eat there. It was well worth the travel and scouring for parking.

Ate here for dinner while on business in Portland. Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives on Food Network. Ordered the PitBoss special, a mix of ribs, pulled pork, brisket and sausage. Enjoyed all of the meats...pulled pork probably my favorite and sausage my least favorite. Different sauce options, including red, vinegar and Carolina mustard. Being from Carolina, I found the... Large portions of soothing comfort food. I don't eat beef or pork so the menu was limited but I had an excellent smoked whole trout and tasted my partner's chicken. Both were perfect. The main dishes come with excellent corn bread and 2 sides. Sides are generous and yummy. The place is simple, family friendly, and tasty.
