This food cart was with hunting for! The seafood Paella was delicious, and so was the Moroccan pot roast. Generous portions and reasonable prices.

We are planning a trip to Morocco in a few months and decided that La Camel was at the top of our list as we surveyed the foot truck fare downtown. We stopped by first and ordered a lamb shank which my wife and I...shared. It was on a bed of couscous, with potato, red pepper and chick pea garnish. The lamb literally fell of the bone, no gnawing needed here, and it was very nicely seasoned and flavorful, one of the best lamb shanks I've ever eaten. We then surveyed more food trucks and came back to La Camel again to order the salmon tagine. The salmon was not over-cooked and came with red pepper, cauliflower, green beans, potatoes, onion and preserved lemon. We talked with the owner, Karim, quite a bit. He is from Fes in Morocco. This place is a gem. If I lived closer I would be a regular.More

Quality and fresh, very unique food cart. No where else like that I can think of unless a restaurant. Worth a trip. I mean anything from that menu. Try Lamb Sandwich.

Excellent food cart experience. Very good food and ample quantity for the price. Could have been a bit more seasoned, but realize that is a strictly personal taste thing. Go to nearby park to sit and eat. So many choices, but this place stood out...to us.More

We travelled as a family up the West Coast from L.A. to Seattle with our 3 year old toddler and 10 month baby in tow. We stopped in Portland for a couple of days. My husband ordered Moroccan food from La Camel and it was...simply delicious, fresh and had great flavours. Not only was the food fantastic but Kareem the owner was the icing on the cake. Extremely personable and just a lovely guy. Everyone knows that travelling with an infant who has only been eating solids for a couple of months can be a bit of a struggle in terms of options as you may not find fresh enough food with flavours suitable enough for infants in the restaurants OR you don't have your own food making equipment (aka a blender) to soften or get food to the consistency suitable for an infant. The dish that my husband ordered had the right flavors not just for him but I knew my daughter would enjoy it too (she likes food with flavor). So I asked Kareem whether he had a blender to blend up some of my husband’s left overs. He didn't have a blender but said that he can 'mash the food ' with the cooking utensils he had in the kitchen. I said sure and as I was about to give him the box of left overs, he offered to actually make the baby food daughter with fresh vegetables, rice and some of his sauce. I told him that the left overs were fine (as I didn't want to impose). He insisted he'd use fresh (i.e. not already half eaten by us) food from his kitchen. 10 minutes later, he presented me with a cup of food of the right consistency , a lid and a spoon for the baby. I couldn't believe how kind and thoughtful this guy was. You don’t find people like that every day. Thank you very much Kareem for being so kind to us. We all loved your food and eating at your food truck was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.More
