I ordered the basics...soup, fried rice, shrimp, chow mein, etc. Everything was really really good! The shrimp wasn't heavily battered and unrecognizable like some places. Everything tasted fresh, served hot, and plenty of it. I will definitely be returning soon to try more of the menu!

Late lunch and reviews were so good I had to try. I barely made the 3 PM cutoff for lunch specials and ordered a simple Cashew Chicken. The plate of food they brought me was large, hot and fresh and was seriously a large amount of chicken and vegetables. Comes with rice, egg roll and hot and sour soup. It was so hot I had to wait for it to cool off and enjoyed every bite. The amount of tasty food for the price was amazing and the dinner pices were very reasonable as well. A very tasty and enjoyable meal.

This non-descript restaurant on Halsey was nearly empty at lunch, which was concerning. We ordered off of the Dinner menu. For an appetizer, we tried the Buddah's Head. They were delicious, but served so hot, that it was easy to scald your mouth and ruin the meal. For Mains, we ordered the Dan Dan Mein w/Szechaun Sauce and Snow Cabbage & Shredded Pork Soup. I would liken the Dan Dan to a Chinese version of spaghetti & marinara. It was really good. The soup was true comfort food. The bitterness of the cabbage contrasted perfectly with the shredded pork. The broth was simple, but delicious.
The service was curt, but efficient. Note: Don't attempt to order the pot stickers. The waiter/owner told us it takes 30 minutes to cook, as they were frozen. I found this puzzling, as I cook these same pot stickers at home in the steamer (also frozen) and they take 8 minutes. Overall, I would say it was a good meal and I would eat here again.

Try the Taipei style chicken wings, it is really good....much better than Pok Pok in Portland. Rest of the food 🥘 is ok but their wings are pretty darn good

Been here a few times in the past year (since our office moved to the area). Each time I order something different hoping it'll be better than the last time. Hasn't worked yet. The food is mediocre at best; all pretty tastless. Although the service itself is good, the customer service is almost non-existant. Server comes by to bring water and tea, take the order, deliver the order, and that is it. If you want a refill on water or tea or if you have a question you have to almost jump up and down to get their attention. Again, will I go back-probably in a crunch for a quick (yet tasteless) bite.

This was a big disappointment...................the stir fry was nothing special at all and it was clear the shrimp were not of good quality; there was no flavor at all.

Very nice people with delicious homemade noodles. And the price is great. It is not atmospheric but it is clean. There is a bar with draft beers. There are cheap lunches with the proverbial American Chinese dishes which are fine. But the best thing to go for (IMHO) are the authentic dishes-- and the noodles are great. And the portions are huge. And the prices are fab. The husband always gets the seafood noodle soup-- loaded with seafood and chewy noodles. I've had he different kins and have liked them all. If you're feeling chicken noodley-- get the wonton noodle. Loaded with fat pieces of pork, fat little dumplings, bok choy , and thin noodles. We go a few times month-- at least. Don't let the outside of the place -- kind of odd signage with combo asian/german (with the "haus" spelling), sort of seedy looking area... don't let it stop you from going in and trying it. Or-- do take out. OH-- and very good smoothies.

The location is not so great (Far from the main area of Portland)..but if you are visiting Mt Hood area and coming back to inner Portland area, stop by and have food from Korean/Chinese menu. My favorite is spicy seafood noodle soup. Yum!!!!!! (My 15 yo cousin took this photo).

We were on a weekend trip that had us stopping in Portland for the night. I wanted good Chinese that didn't include everything fried and drenched in goop. We decided on this little gem and are so glad we did. We had the Dan Dan Noodle, family style veggies and bean curd, Buddha balls, and pork steamed dumplings. Everything was very tasty and seemed freshly prepared.
My only complaint is the that the room is open and drafty and would benefit from some cleverly placed screens to deaden the sound and kill the door draft.
The food was reasonably priced and prompt. I'd return next time I'm in town.

Good table service and more than reasonable prices for lunch. The food was satisfactory. Hot and sour soup was not great, but our entrees were fine. Rest room was fine.

I found Taipei Noodle Haus by a bit of luck, just driving down NE Halsey near 122nd on the eastside of Portland, while getting hungry for dinner. I'd remembered reading that Beef Noodle Soup is supposed to be the national dish of Taiwan, so on a whim I decided to give this restaurant a try.
Everything looked clean and nice when I entered, and I was immediately escorted to a table. My server seemed pleased that I'd ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, and the menu described it as containing noodles freshly made on the premises daily.
What arrived was a very large bowl of soup with a hearty dark broth, plenty of beef, and delicious noodles which had a nice bite/texture to them, all topped with a bit of cilantro. The broth was slightly spicy, not noticeably salty, and it didn't need to have anything added to it for it to taste just perfect. The beef seemed to be from boneless chuck roast (pot roast), which had been finely trimmed of any fat, and was very tender.
There was more than I could eat at one sitting, so I had about ¼ of it placed in a to-go container.
Great food, great service, great price, what more could you want when you're in the mood for soup? The Taipei Noodle Haus is definitely on my return visit list.
