Good Food, altho the steel head was a little dry. My husband had the rib eye and it was melt in your mouth yummy! They had a live guitarist playing soft music - nice touch. On a side street, so you have to search it out.

I took a chance on this restaurant, having not heard from anyone who had experienced it. Their web site, menu and the few comments I could find on it looked good so I arranged to surprise my husband and we meet friends there. We had a perfect evening! The table was nicely arranged and comfortable in a romantic setting. All... More

We have dined here often and always enjoyed the fresh pasta that is made daily. we were here recently and had the fresine w/meat balls & their daily ravioli ... although making fresh pasta is not that difficult, you can certainly ruin it by adding a ridiculous amount of salt to it .. no clue why the chef did that... This review is about our second visit to Iorio Restaurant. After our first visit, we rated the food as fantastic, the ambiance lovely, the noise level quite reasonable, the service outstanding (we had Charles as our server) and considered the restaurant a neighborhood gem. Last Friday, 1.29, we returned to the restaurant with great anticipation, only to meet with disappointment.... More

Iorio Restaurant in SE Portland has been around for years but hasn't gotten the attention or press as lots of other Portland Italian restaurants. It's our secret, so don't tell too many people. Reservations are not difficult to get, parking is easy and the food is REALLY good and reasonably priced. Pastas are homemade and everything is fresh. A nice... More

What a charming restaurant! Casual and decorated darling, just like being in a restaurant in Italy. They had a flamingo guitarist playing while we ate, so neat. Iorio is the name of the owners grandmother and there is a section where the guitarist plays that has pictures of her. So special. Now the food! Eight of went and had different... More

Recently had a mid-week, mid-evening reservation for 6 people. Seated promptly, staff was attentive, though it was so noisy we had trouble hearing each other. We each ordered a pasta dish, comparing notes most of us found them rather heavy, bland and similar-tasting. Don't know how else to describe it, but we all found the entrees OK but disappointing. The... More

There are many good Italian restaurants in Portland. This is one of my favorites. The polenta and meatballs (side dishes) are spectacular.

We visited Iorio last night for the first time in many years. It's a cute place with friendly service. My husband had the slow cooked pork with roasted vegetables over polenta. It was very good - the veggies were very flavorful, the pork was moist and the balsamic glaze drizzle was a great accent flavor. I unfortunately ordered the wild... More

This is a very nice family run dinner spot in the inner Hawthorne neighborhood that should not be missed. The calamari appetizer is a real treat and the portion size is large enough for four to share. They make their own pasta fresh and both of our pasta dishes were great. You can easily share a dish since the portion... More
