If you're like me and tend to prefer the hot cream and sugar confections of Starbucks to real coffee, go to Crema and try the honey vanilla latte. Real, actual coffee, but so smooth and delicious and insides melting -- the perfect thing for a rainy Portland afternoon.

Loved the feel of Crema as soon as we walked in. Friendly staff, open space, warm and cozy. Ordered up a killer cup of a quinoa and mushroomy soup and it was soooo on the spot for the slightly dreary cool day we were experiencing. The gal at the counter had recommended and she was spot on with her description.... More

I've gone several times to Crema - I'm always tempted by how the pastries and savories look but then am actually disappointed in their taste. And, as a decaf drinker, have also been unhappy with my coffee there - its also quite noisy so conversation is hard unless you sit outside where street noise is sometimes tough to talk over... More

With all the relative newcomers to the bakery and café scene, this shop has survived for many years. And it is still hopping! Went today to meet a friend for treats and coffee, and the line was literally out the door. The team behind the counter, though, had a good strategy, and had us moving at a good clip. Bought... For a while I'd stop in here for an espresso and something to eat, but the "too cool for school" staff eventually became a bit too much. I will no longer frequent the place. I suppose the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back was when a worker kept allowing his friends and acquaintances to come to the front of... More

If you're looking to replace the Starbucks experience, go here. It's got everything you need, including a few outlets. I went on a Sunday afternoon and was lucky to find one small table not yet claimed by a shiny silver Macbook. Good coffee, good pastries, good atmosphere. Not Starbucks, but sure kinda feels like it. Stumptown's coldbrew is better, but... More

Hands down, this is my favorite coffee place in SE Portland. The staff is amazingly friendly and, to be frank, very beautiful. The seating area is big with lots of windows, which is great if you need a quick escape if you see an ex who also loves this place. A great place to do work, meet clients, people watch,... More

This is a good Portland-y place, great for people-watching, people-listening to and most of the baked goods I have tried have been really good. I usually just get regular coffee, and it is good enough to drink black, which is an indication it serves locals. As previously mentioned, you might have to wait for a good seat at some times... Portland is loaded with fantastic bakeries: Fleur de Lis, Little T, Roman Candle, St. Honore, Pearl Bakery, Ken's Artisan Bakery, just to name a few. Cream is where one goes to get dense, often dry, fairly tasteless hippy style goods. As a 40 year resident, I say : Why settle for such low quality when so many truly wonderful places... More

I've been coming to Crema for at least a few years now. I like coming here almost any time. The only times where it isn't great is when there aren't enough seats. =/ This spot is just south of Burnside on 28th with a great vibe. The coffee is wonderfully done, the eats spread is all out there for you... More
