I joined a few colleagues for a one-day trip to Portland. That meant we had to choose a restaurant for our one dinner in town, so I went to Trip Advisor to find the right spot. Mother’s Bistro looked great and was near our hotel,...More

Food was delish. I think it's more for adults as my teenage son just didn't appreciate the atmosphere as much as I did. Come on, who doesn't like a coffee mug that says "call your mother"? Make reservations in advance though....it'll be worth it.

We had high hopes for Mother's as the first time we went there (on a Sunday) it was an hour wait. We went again on Tuesday and were seated immediately. The food was ok. the potatoes were sub-par and the Chicken Apple sausage tasted very...More

In the past, I've almost always found this restaurant to be excellent. Their roast beef is like Sunday dinner at home when I was a kid. In general the menu has some delicious variations on a month-to-month basis, as they honor different mothers and their...More

"Spooning leads to forking, so use condiments" read my server's shirt... so I knew I was in the right place! We enjoyed a classic brunch, complete with man-mosa's while vacationing in Portland this fall.

I met a business colleague here, and luckily we arrived early because there wasn't a wait. Once the place filled up, the tables are so close, it's difficult to have a relaxed conversation. The food is average.

We came across this restaurant while wandering around Portland on a Saturday morning. We picked it because of the sheer number of people willing to wait for a table on a chilly February morning. The wait was around 90 minutes but was absolutely worth it....More

Very interesting and tasty menu, all done well. They even have a cookbook you can buy. Interior is decorated "shabby chic" so you don't need to get all dressed up to go there. Not real cheap but worth every penny.

You should be fine. You'll miss the morning breakfast rush and beat the early lunch crowd. Like I said, the Bloody Mary's are great! Enjoy and have a blessed Christmas!
