We visited a few breweries during our trip to Portland. We stopped in at Base Camp on a Monday afternoon, it was dead and the staff was not overly friendly. They had a decent selection of beer and the sour beers were excellent! Also, I’m...not a stout person, but the smores stout was great! Nice place, I would recommend checking it out.More

This is a must go to brewery. Great atmosphere , great story, and great service. Also, the beer is incredible; the flavors they get in the sour series are out of this world. The toasted marshmallows on the rim of the stout glasses are a...great touch. Best brewery in Portland!!!More

Base Camp Brewing is your usual industrial warehouse establishment that is quiet and roomy, with great alternative rock playing in the background. Plenty of great beers to choose from, plus snacks from the food truck parked outside. But this food truck serves Napalese food! Sort...of a like Indian meets Thai. We had these little steamed buns stuffed with meaty goodness. Kind of like a shu-mai, but larger, or bao, but larger, dipped in these wonderful sweet/hot sauces. Perfect as a pre-function or pre-commute snackMore

Base Camp was really nice! The woodwork in this place was phenomenal! All the tables were huge slabs of wood with a thick clear veneer held up by ginnormous rocks!! I got the Send It IPA and so did , my husband and son. We...also bought great looking T-shirts with a yak on the back. They had a wide variety of beer and t-shirts too.More

Talk about a busy area (it was fun and loud, has outdoor seating). If you wanted food, there's food trucks. The beers were ok, but wouldn't go out of our way for them. We did tasters in this place. In general, we have nothing bad...to say about this place, but nothing that stuck out - all items on tap were just 'ok' (especially comparing to all the other goodness Portland has to offer). But we did end up buying Rye Saison because of an award they got for it (we wanted to judge for ourselves) - it was worth the hype (it was good). Just for that Saison too bad I can't give 3.5 instead of just a 3 of 5 rating. I think Base Camp can make a killing in Seattle (Oregon has tough competition).More

We had many good beers, mostly IPAs on this visit, but also enjoyed the Rye Saison. Service was good and we sat in the taproom. Since it was a fairly cool evening, all the traffic to/from the outdoor tent meant the door was open quite...frequently and the wind happened to be blowing directly inside, so the taproom isn't a warm space for relaxing. We had food from Sherpa Kitchen. It was excellent. MoMos and Dal Bhat Tarkari. Location is about 5 blocks from the Portland Streetcar route, so it is an easy transit.More

Fun atmosphere, good beer, and food trucks. What a combo. Busy and bustling--great place to hang out with friends. Perfect types of food from the food trucks. Great with the beer.

So many breweries, so little time and alcohol tolerance. We had Base Camp on our list as one that we wanted to hit while in PDX. It was a Friday afternoon so wasn't too crowded, but just enough so there was a little excitement. We...were able to quickly grab a beer, I chose a Pils and the hubby chose an IPA. Both were great pours and great beers. I also love that they have 2 food trucks on site and you can order at the bar from either. One is a pizza truck and the other is Sherpa kitchen which is a Nepalese food truck. We ordered the edamame and the veggie Momo's. They were delivered quick and steaming hot by the super friendly lady that runs the truck. We stayed for 2 beers and it started to get more crowded as the night went on. Really liked the feel of this place, the beer, the food trucks and the overall vibe. I would go back for sure!More

With so many choices in Portland it can be tough to pick a brewery. This one is worth visiting. Be sure to try the Smore Stout if it's on. They serve it with a toasted marshmallow on the side of the glass.

They seem pretty easy going with pooches on the patio. Not inside though...
