Had a lunch with other associates. This restaurant is very popular with the locals. That's your first tip it's good. Had grilled fish tacos. Pretty good, not real flavorful but good.

I love La Bonita on Alberta St. with colorful interior decor and friendly window service. La Bonita is a regular stop on my annual visits home. Delicious chile relleno and carnitas burritos add guacamole for a final touch. Both are a must have. I wish DC had something remotely like this.

We had 3 different types of meat between 2 tacos and a burrito - none had any flavor at all. It wasn't bad like you couldn't eat it - there was just no flavor. The hot sauce joined the club - the red was just HOT and the green was hot but again no flavor. Ended up drowning the food... More

The title sounds like I'm a booze hound, and I've enjoyed my share, but the food at La Bonita works well for everybody. I'm a fan of their red chilaquiles, and they provide with healthy portions and great flavor. It's not a fancy joint, but the food is plentiful, the staff is good natured, and there are comfortable seats. They... More

The reviews of this place are mixed and that's my feeling as well. I've been here three times and the food is consistently, well, consistent -- and average. Nothing "pops" and I agree with one fellow reviewer that the meat portions in the meals are skimpy. When you order a burrito with steak or pastor you want to taste (and... More

More than fair portions for the price. Platters were very generous at lunchtime. Great part of town to stroll after indulging.

We've been here multiple times as this place has large portions for the budget conscious eater. Everything we have tried has been delicious and service is great and fast.

Based on all the great reviews on this place we decided to have dinner here. What a mistake. The food is mediocre at best. I ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and literally had to look to find much steak. My husband had the Chicken Fajita Burrito and also had to search for the chicken. For the price we paid we... More

Just stand in line, place your order, pay and grab a picnic table in this unassuming restaurant. Don't let the decor fool you as this is some of the best Mexican food in Portland. The portions are huge and the prices are huge, so when you hear your name called, grab your food and enjoy! You won't be disappointed!

I have been going to La Bonita since the mid 1990's and it has consistently been a great place to eat. The food is really nicely priced and the service is fast. Lots of take out at this place too. The seating is limited so not great for big groups. The staff is really friendly and it is family run.... More
