We ate here again for the first time since the early '80s. The place had not changed much. The service, menu and wine selection were all excellent. The food, if not quite perfect, was still very good. The prices are a little high compared to the overall experience, but the place is an institution and the occasional visit is well... More

The food is over the Moon, the Service is amazing and the options your given is huge and you get it any way you want it. Lots of food for the $. Not cheap, but so well worth it. If you can get in. Don't think your just going to walk in, this is a very busy place. Make reservations... More

Every city has a least one fantastic steakhouse: in Portland it's The Ringside. The moment you walk in you know something special is going to happen. It's darkly lit, but with lots of candles - an interesting & eclectic decor. I've been coming here for a few years when I visit family: it underwent a renovation I think maybe 2... More

Good steakhouse with somber lighting (too dark for my taste). Good wine selection and knowledgable somelier. Overall good service and great meat served though nothing extra-ordinary. My steak was good and everybody from my group was happy. Very good selection of side-dishes.

I haven't eaten here in many years but a client insisted it had "been fixed". It all came rushing back...bad food...inept service...and over the top kudos from locals. Shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were obviously tiger prawns from a Vietnamese farm. Cooked ok, with bland meaningless sauces. Ribeye. They must have their own Ringside farm and Ringside breed of cattle. Are... More

We sat at a very small table in a back corner. We had them clear our appetizer that we had not finished just to make room for our actual dinner. We waited along time for our food. The prime rib was terrible (bland). The lobster mashed potatoes were the only thing served at our table that anyone liked. This was... More

Friends and I enjoyed a good steak dinner and reminiscing about Muhammad Ali's career in and out of the ring, the weekend after he past on. Of course we had their onion rings! Paintings of The Champ on the wall were thought-provoking to look at. The Ringside is an "old school" steakhouse with a good single malt scotch shelf.

Have eaten in the restaurant with family, and have taken out filet mignon a few times. I think that the steaks are very good, but not "the best" as compared to Del Frisco's Double Eagle, Dallas (not operating anymore?), the Benjamin Steakhouse, NYC, and The Bull and Bear in the Waldorf Astoria, NYC. Service was courteous and not haughty. Vegetable... More

We received a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel to dine at Ringside Steakhouse. From the minute you walk-in the door it is definitely an "old school" steakhouse. It's got kind of a red, rustic look with limited seating and a compact, but cozy bar. While waiting for our table, we sat in the bar an ordered drinks. We... More

We were a party of eight and seated quickly for our family celebration (birthday, anniversary and Father's Day). Lots of people celebrating that day. Our waitress was good - did get overwhelmed with new seatings and forgot some of the things we needed. However, we all had fun and it was great. Maybe a little loud for my older parents.... More
