Very attractive, open-feeling space. I had a daily special: chicken chilaquiles with red sauce and two perfect over-easy eggs. With little sides of guacamole and sour cream, this was an outstanding dish -- told them they should put it on the regular menu. One of my companions had a farmer's omelette, the other your basic eggs, bacon, potatoes and both... More

Excellent service, excellent food. Staff kept our coffee cups full, didn't push us to leave when they got busy, and overall provided a great eating experience.

I loved this restaurant. The food was different but it was delicious and the staff made us feel welcome. I had the roast beef hash and added feta and husband had the cauliflower hash. The waiting area is small and we were confused by the entrance because you have to walk through a curtain behind a glass door but once... More

My wife and I stopped in for lunch after checking into the Embassy Suites just down the street. The place has a very pleasant atmosphere and friendly wait staff. The menu had a limited selection of lunch/dinner entrees, but the grilled ham and cheese and tuna melt sandwiches that we ordered were excellent. I'd definitely stop here again for lunch... More

I ordered more food than I usually do-did a lot of walking around town and parks in Portland. Somehow, ate it all and they have great coffee there as well, not to mention superb service.

The meals there are great. Haven't had one yet that I did not like. The place looks fairly average, and so is the capacity. It gets packed pretty fast. The wait time is loooong on weekends. But the have good food. Service is okay, for a busy brunch place, the service is okay. You can't expect to have your server... More

Since we've been in Portland we've been trying to hit all of the "best of" places right off the bat. The Bijou is exactly that. We went on a Thursday morning hoping to avoid the weekend crowds. We didn't have to wait but the restaurant was completely full. I was so impressed with the food & service. Omelets were the... More

Bijou Café has been around for many years. If great French style omelets, fabulous pastries (especially the biscuits) and limited but delicious sandwiches, Bijou should be on your PDX breakfast list. In a town where breakfast is a religious experience, Bijou Café is a spiritual haven.

The food is really good - and I'm a local. Service and food is tasty! I had the two eggs and enjoyed the toast and side salad. I loved the waiter - he was great!

Live in Denver and first time visit to Portland - looked up reviews and bijou was in walking distance to where we were... Certainly a fun place for breakfast. I just wonder why and how breakfast begins to cost $12 and more? Saying that - the food was high quality. My daughter had the veggie scramble with kale and cauliflower... More
