Decided on Paley's after trying out the Imperial a few months ago. Imperial was nothing stellar do thought we would try a more private and seasonal menu. Butternut squash soup was delicious. Main course of salmon was average. Nothing memorable although fish was cooked well. Full portion size I feel was small given the price tag. Dessert of crepe suzette... More

We had jet-lagged guests just arrived from China who wanted a light meal so we tried Paley's Place for Happy Hour. It was superb. The same innovative cuisine that distinguishes this restaurant but at Happy Hour prices which makes it 'Mid-range'. Good prices on drinks, too.

This is a very nice, quaint restaurant located in what looked like a really old but well-kept house. Our dinner party included ten people, and the staff did a great job taking care of us. The cuisine was more of an up-scale French influence that is a bit pricey, but the overall experience was quite good!

Stopped in here on a Thursday night with no reservation and the hostess was very nice and got us a table. Food was interesting, exciting and absolutely delicious. Tried a couple of the dumpling dishes, brussel sprouts, rissoto, cod and pork belly. All were on point. Service was really good and staff very knowledgeable.

My wife and I dined here for our anniversary and could not be more pleased. We had the 5 course tasting menu (Chef's choice) and as we were served different plates for each course we sampled 10 dishes. The duck was absolutely the best anywhere! The salmon was also amazing. Best beef tartar in the world! Both salads: beet for... More

Paley's was recommended to me on a recent stay in Portland. I am very glad I chose to eat here. The restaurant is in a beautifully renovated home in a lovely Portland neighborhood. The menu is not huge, but each dish is interesting and creative. I started with Sweet Potato Bisque, a rich combination of sweet potatoes and cream, butter... More

We had eaten here several times in the past. On this occasion we met with friends who were in town from Seattle. We had not been to Paley's for a few years as we found the meal was not worth the price but thought would give it a second chance. While the lamb was tasty it was quite tough and,... More

We were sent to Paley's by another chef, the staff is amazing and dinner was delicious! They have small and large portions of fresh fish, veggies and grains. The presentation is beautiful as well. Even the sorbet was amazing...apple and berry in trio with maple walnut ice cream. The Russian influence of the chef is in the mix.

Booking requirements for our large party very specific ... don't be late, no shows $50 per person! We were on time and could see why, it is small restaurant and very busy. We were exceedingly well looked after by the wait staff. The food was fantastic ... don't miss the chicken liver pate, escargot with marrowbone (amazing!), salad with watercress... More

My daughter and I wandered into Paley's because it was near our hotel. They found us a table in the bar area and we had the room to ourselves. The drinks and food were excellent.
