We had a family dinner here this week. It is a very popular restaurant and reservations were not easy. Everything about this restaurant was excellent - the decor, the service, the food, etc. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back again the next time we are in Portland. It is expensive...

This is a true five-star restaurant and experience with a very inventive menu, attentive and well-informed staff and very good value. As we dine lightly in the evening, we tend to have the small (half-price) plate and add something from the very good range of side dishes. On this occasion, we took foodie friends from New York and they raved... More

Visited with out of town foodie friends. Frankly expected more. Seemed past its prime. Tables were close and room was warm. Waitress showed little interest and was not helpful. Sweetbreads were decent but nothing special. Food tends to be too salty. Too many exciting other choices in Portland, so will not be returning.

This was our second time at Paley's place and because the first time last year was so great we had high expectations. My husband and I are always looking for tasting menus with interesting wine pairings and this place does an excellent job with both. We again had a great meal, great wine pairings and great service so we were... More

Pretty building and quiet--just pleasant background music so you don't have to shout, thank goodness. Servers were attentive and knowledgeable, food was absolutely delicious, and the wines perfect. Portions surprisingly large. We had oysters, a vegetable (the artichokes and lemon!), a desert (the rhubard dish was superb), and were satisfied with half an entree. The ability to order 1/2 is... Husband & I had the tasting menu ($70 ea) with wine pairing ($40 ea) and this is the first place we've experienced where the menu was different for us both. While we shared the 1st course salumi plate, remaining 4 courses were different as were wines, and all were delicious. Outstanding service, knowledgeable and attentive staff, quiet noise level, and... More

Four of us arrived without a reservation. Without hesitation the hostess advised we could be seated if we wanted to dine right then. We did. Service was excellent. Food was delicious. Small plates option is terrific.

We went back to Paley's Place and the food and service were as good as any visit there in the past. The food is DELICIOUS, the service is attentive, they will accommodate special dietary needs. If you get a table in the bar area you can also choose from the bar menu from 5:30-6:30. It is costly, but it is... More

Top notch service and an excellent food selections .. beautifully plated. This place certainly ranks as one of our top 10 favorite restaurants in the Portland Metro area. We absolutely love the other restaurants associated with Chef Paley and his top winning chefs throughout this area.

This restaurant provided us with a wonderful dining experience. The service was impeccable, and the creative and diverse menu made it hard to choose. Both the sweetbreads and halibut were perfectly prepared. I loved being able to choose a half portion the choice for the entree, to save room for the wonderful deserts.
