Wandering around downtown snacking--stopped in for a bite here, again. This place has really good cocktails--hard to beat em. Tonite tho it was Sapporo to go with the veggie tempura, cucumber salad and lettuce cups. Fresh, healthy and good. Server was helpful--service was quick-food was good.

I went here to celebrate my birthday. The restaurant looks very unassuming from the outside, but stepping through the threshold was like walking into another fun and exotic world. The drink menu was impressive. So many cocktails, the usual and the unusual. They even had a drink for two served in a whole pineapple! I ordered several things off the... More

Amazing amazing amazing! Impeccable service. Our waiter Jesse M was wonderful. One of the best waiters I have encountered (among the thousands). The cocktail menu is impressive. Exquisite choices...I had a vodka based drink with ginger, chili lime. Fantastic food from appetizers to dessert. We had tapioca dumplings. Chicken wings, lamb shank and other goodies for dessert. Will be back... More

I'm a fan of the neighbourhood, and Saucebox had an interesting looking menu, so we stopped in for dinner last night. They took us to the wrong table initially, not a big deal, then seated us by the window. They were willing to switch out chairs so that I could have a more comfortable one. Our waiter was very attentive... More

Happy hour prices are hard to beat, especially when one considers the taste, presentation, and quality of ingredients. Two of us split eight tasty snack plates (ahi and salmon nigiri, white miso soup, vietnamese salad roll, crispy brussel sprouts in a fabulous dashi, taro chips, sweet potato rolls and the very clever pork sarong wrapped with chinese noodles), for under... We like Asian food and the Saucebox is described as Asian Fusion. We ordered the Pu Pu Platter because it allowed us to sample many of their appetizers: the tapioca stuffed buns filled with a tasty chicken stuffing, the spring rolls with a yummy dipping sauce, three pieces of sushi (fresh and delicious), sausage wrapped in I am not sure... Barbara, I'm so glad you had the chance to try out a few different things with us! To hear that everything was made to impress is music to my ears, and I hope it won't be long before we get the opportunity to serve up another round of sushi and spring rolls to you! Until then, Bruce Carey Owner More

When I have friends who want a Happy Hour after work with a great selection of food I recommend Sauce Box. If you get there early you can get a seat and have a fun experience. First off they have Taro Chips, which I love. Their $5 & $6 snacks are great with a good, varied selection.

Taking a moment after a long day to enjoy a drink with friends is what it's all about, Jeanie. I'm ecstatic that we could be that perfect place for a fun experience with friends. I hope you'll be back soon, whether it's for the snacks or the drinks. The taro chips await, Bruce Carey, Owner More

The decor is really cool and artsy, the food was tasty, but a little over priced. The menu had a variety of very unique plates. Portions are perfect as I was full but no food was wasted. My only issue was that the service was a little slow.

Thanks so much! It's great to hear you enjoyed the decor and food, and I appreciate you letting us know. Also, please know, fast and friendly service is extremely important to us and what you described does not sound like our norm. It's my first time in Portland and this is the most fun and delicious meal we have had with great drinks and a very attentive waitress and lovely small "tapas" starters and dishes. Great place for small groups looking for a nice ambience, fusion pan Asian food and great drinks including the sake.
