Visited once. Would most definitely return. French onion soup and a salmon/apple salad were surely yummy. Friends I dined with enjoyed their entrees as well. Good choice of restaurant. But, leave room for dessert!! Oh, it would be a mistake not too. In fact, ask for the dessert menu first as it might inform the amount of dinner your choose.

The NW 23rd location was bustling on a Saturday afternoon. The host was gracious and friendly. We got seated quickly. Our server was attentive despite being very busy. The shrimp and clam appetizer was flavorful cooked in an olive oil and seafood broth base with herbs that had us asking for more Brad to soak up the complex and delicious... More

Found many fellow Hawaiians on the two days that we were there. Too many amazing dishes and desserts. Went back another day so I had room for dessert. Tip: bring a lot of friends and share the dishes so that there is room for dessert. And the desserts are amazingly wonderful. My husband fell in love with the French Onion... More

Had a craving for my all time favorite Boccone Dolce, we rushed to Papa Haydn at 9:30pm, thank goodness they close at 10pm. Always a good experience here, the desserts were so beautifully presented and yummy in my tummy:) Our server was so attentive and friendly. Unlike Milwaukie location, NW doesn't have night time happy hour (9-10pm). They only have... More

We went to the 23rd Avenue area in the hopes of getting some ice cream at a nearby place, but our Uber driver recommended Papa Haydn's once we saw how long the line was for ice cream. Let me start by saying that this place is really pretty, was super busy, a great place to people watch, and the desserts... More

How to make a fussy teen eater happy? Take her to Papa Haydn and entice her with the dessert counter. It works every time! We had to return for a second lunch during a short weekend stay recently because she was so taken by the sweet side of the menu. For the rest of us, we had excellent salads, sampled... More

We were in the area and looking for a cute place for lunch. The service was excellent here and food was good. We all ordered the pork sandwich and it was very tasty. The fries were also delicious!

Interesting menu with a special take on classic sandwiches, salads and entrees and spectacular desserts, BUT... Long wait to be served (45min after we sat) and my Korean chicken sandwich was probably not a great choice. So I understand why this is so popular but I would not recommend it.

We struggled to find a cafe serving chocolate cake in downtown Portland. A tour guide in the visitor information Center recommended this place which is a short streetcar ride from downtown in a quirky neighbourhood. They have several different types of chocolate cake as well as lots of other desserts & great ice cream. They do other food as well... More

Highly recommend our waitress, Megan. She was attentive...explained food, cocktails and wine and let us know her favorites to order. Her advice was spot on. The French white wine was really good as was the burger, the salmon salad, the chicken salad sandwich and most of the desserts. Not all the food was worth ordering. The shellfish appetizer w/grilled bread... More
