We went next to our hotel for location. Great atmosphere, great service, great server, great price. While the experience and food sides are outstanding, meat is just ok. Seasoning marginal and quality of meat not up to price. Salad, potato incredible. Michel made experience good.

The great live music and atmosphere are exceeded by the food and service. Best steak in town. And, coincidentally, one of the best lobster tails in town. It's easy to over order because everything is so darned good.

My wife and I just got back from our Anniversary dinner at El Gaucho; our first time there. The reviews about the amazing scalloped potatoes were right on as they were definitely a hit. The steaks were all cooked well, tinder, and the sauces were...More

This restaurant was right across the street from my hotel and was recommended by the concierge. I went there not expecting anything other than routine but was pleasantly surprised at how great the food was. The killer shrimp appetizer was amazing. The steak was cooked...More

El Gauchos is great. This place ranks just as high or higher than the higher end steak houses in NYC. Everyone is very friendly and they sometimes have live music at night. The steak came out perfect. Ordered the appropriate wine pairing. This is great...More

While known (justifiably) for their steaks, I had the special of the night which was halibut. It was amazing! First it was a very thick cut which was cooked beautifully...it was almost 3 inches thick! The sauce was lightly done and beautifully complemented the fish....More

All the staff are attentive and personable. We were warmly greeted and seated at an intimate booth, yellow rose petals and a birthday card decorating the table. The tableside Cesar salad was performance art and delicious!! Our server, Gabriel, was simply thee best! But really,...More

Managed to get a table by calling the restaurant as there was no availability showing online. We were seated promptly on arrival in the center of the restaurant which has a cigar lounge vibe hence is on the darker side.. Considering one of the highlighted...More

We usually stay at the Benson when we're in Portland and El Gaucho is convenient (since it's in the same building). However, every time we stay, the wait is so long that we just wander off to search for something else. this time, I actually...More

We have been there several times and never gotten bread. I have a bread fiend I'm going with this spring and need to know what you have for bread options.

We were served bread shortly after sitting. It was a single option (they may have others if asked) of a nice lightly crisp herb or garlic (if garlic, very light on garlic) bread. It was very enjoyable.
