It was a typical rainy night in Portland and we had to eat before going to the theater. The neighborhood was funky, but not threatening in any way we felt. Hungry, a little pressed for time, getting colder. We got lucky! My wife and I hadn't expected to find Nicholas' Restaurant, although we'd heard it was excellent. We went in... More

We had a wonderful dinner here on our last night in Portland. We loved the generous portions and huge pita bread to start. This place does Lebanese right! Highly recommend trying if you are in Portland area.

We took advantage of the lunch menu and were not disappointed. It was truthfully only as authentic as you'd expect from a lunch-deal but still very flavorful, well cooked and also very very reasonably priced. I'd definitely be happy to return and check out their regular menu.

Went to Nicholas' partially looking for great Greek cuisine since my favorite place, Alexis closed due to the owner's retirement after 30 years of the best Greek food in PDX. The menu listed the food as "Mediterranean" and was mostly Lebanese with a few Greek style dishes. Fortunately, I love great Lebanese food, too! Was pleasantly surprised by the food... More

My friend and I decided to come to Portland for the weekend for a "Food & Beverage" Crawl. We ended up at Nicholas' on a recommendation and WOW are we happy. Before you can even settle in they bring out a fresh out of the fire fresh backed flat bread pita the size of a hub cap! The menu offers... More

Had frequented the Gresham location a few years back but this was the first time we visited the original Grand location. Restaurant was very busy but the wait to be seated was not protracted. The restaurant itself, was small and intimate with plenty of diners on this Sunday evening. Good atmosphere albeit a bit hard to hear! As with all... More

My daughter is a vegetarian and chose this place for her birthday dinner and we loved it. Lots of veg choices but lots of meat choices also. Everything is fresh and it tastes wonderful, we can't wait to go back and try some other things. The first thing you get is a fresh hot plate of pita with a nice... More

I attended a convention at the Convention Center and did not want to have lunch there. Took a walk, and about three blocks away walked past this restaurant that was jammed with locals, but saw two tables getting cleaned for the next guests. It is not fancy. Food is outstanding. First of all, a freshly baked enormous puffy pita bread... More
