In the Clinton neighborhood. We ventured out of downtown for this early morning treat before our return to the four corners of the country. Yelp reviews are justifiably phenomenal and spoke well of Broder’s ability to transform smoked trout and salmon into breakfast bounty. Get the Swedish hash with small cubed potatoes topped with two baked eggs, pickled beets and... More

If you don't mind waiting in line for breakfast, or eating late in the morning (the place does not open till 9:00), this is an excellent choice for everyone. Lots of delicious heavy carb choices for those not watching that kind of thing, and yummy selections for those who are.

Have been here for breakfast two days in a row. Went with my daughter and had to bring my husband the next day. On weekends the waits are crazy. Come prepared with cards or good conversation. Went on a Friday afternoon and sat right down. The Danish pancakes with the amazing lemon curd and berry jam were TDF. The smoked... More

They don't take reservations, and on a Sunday there is a 40 min wait. I love herring and smoked fish, and so I was attracted. However, the food did not quite come up to my expectations. The dish of "three open-faced sandwiches" contained three sandwiches that were so minute, like 2 by 2 inches! The pickled herring tasted like the... More

I'm a fan of Swedish food and was pretty happy to find Broders. Cute, casual and a nice Menu offering everything from ebelskivers to smoked fish and eggs and fantastic potato pancakes. Service is good, fortunately we ate breakfast there on a weekday and walked right in. The food takes a little while so we passed the time with a... More

The small neighborhood restaurant in Portland makes a Swedish style breakfast. We stopped in early on Sunday. I had the Apple Fritters and my friend opted for the Swedish Breakfast. EVERYTHING WAS GREAT! This was a real treat to eat a Swedish Breakfast and the quality of the food was excellent. HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU GO EARLY ON SUNDAY BEFORE THE... More

My favorite breakfast & brunch in PDX. I am not a morning person and it takes a lot to get me to go out early to get a plate of eggs with cheese & chopped peppers stuffed inside it or the usual breakfast fare that normal people seem to like. Broder is not for normal people. It's for people who... More

We had to wait awhile, but it was Sunday morning, so totally understood (no reservation(s)). Parking was not an issue. Cozy seating inside the restaurant, but the food was so worth the wait, absolutely incredible!

What really sets this place apart is its authentic Scandinavian menu. Apple fritters for breakfast! A million times better than pancakes. Plenty of other choices but only had one opportunity to go there. Great service and coffee. The staff warned us to get there before 9.00 if we did not want a long wait.

We arrived at around 9:30 and waited for around an hour to get a table. One of my friends asked him for an estimated time, and his reply was "I can't make people leave." Very poor service on his part. The host was incredibly unhelpful and if we hadn't said anything, he would have not remembered that we were still... More
