We each really enjoyed our food. The kung pao chicken was excellent and enough for dinner and left overs for lunch the next day. We will certainly return again.

First meal was lunch. Ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried noodles and won ton soup...all very delicious.
Next meal we ordered from the dinner menu. House special chow mein and shrimp chow mein . Very large portion of noodles but very few shrimp and hardly any meat in the house special....very disappointing...
I may try again but only from the lunch menu.

Solid food. Huge portions. The Kung Pao chicken could have fed two. Could have used a bit more heat.

Yes, Covid-19 made everything difficult, but I've tried this old favorite twice since the lockdowns and each time it has been total chaos, with customers waiting so long they became angry, and the front of the house staff so disorganized and mad at the kitchen and each other that the experience was horrible. In fact, observed one of the front staff shove the other and turn to yell at the kitchen staff. Sorry they got so stressed, but this was on my second try, the first of which I waited a long time to get someone to take an order for take out and simply gave up. Second time, saw the chaos and though eventually received the order, I dread returning.

Joy Wok at Barnes Road has always been high quality and an oft-visited place for take out. BUT, this last visit was different. Green Beans and tofu presented with overly stringy beans; chow mein came with no flavor and tasteless shrimp.
None of the familiar counter people were there. The crew was very friendly and attentive, but new people suggests new management? Or, perhaps it was just an off day?

My wife and I live very close to Joy Wok "Healthy Chinese Food". Their food tastes great, looks appealing and is very reasonably priced. Great combination. This is not gourmet dining, but you will not be disappointed.

I often get takeout from here. The ingredients are fresh and well seasoned. Portions are plentiful too. The soups are good. The dishes are MSG free.

I always do take out here (the ambiance of the location is akin to a cafeteria), and for take out the food is hot, ready when they say it is and of dependably high quality.

After 2 days of training seminars a short jaunt down the road in Beaverton, the girls and I picked Mom up from her venue and headed here based on a Google search of nearby Chinese restaurants. Joy Wok was actually rated the 2nd best in the results, but for some reason, I chose it anyway.
Tucked into the corner of your typical shopping center parking lot, the location is nothing special. The interior matches your Subway or McD's, but the service is friendly and fast. It took us longer to decide what to order than for our food to be delivered to our table. The dishes were tasty and quite large. We had to ask for "to go" boxes, and as a result, ended up with two meals for the price of one. The fountain drinks ended up in the trash as the water here tasted very treated which spoiled the taste.
We'd certainly recommend Joy Wok but probably wouldn't come again simply to try other options if we were to visit the area again.

Always quick and efficient service. Food is consistently of high quality, hot, and flavorful without the lower-quality ingredients found in other Chinese foods. Take out is managed well; eat in is prompt. Long-term staff is friendly and helpful.

We had just left Pittcock Mansion and were starving ,I was looking for a healthy choice and this place say health Chinese food right on their sign! So we went in the interior is really uninspiring . We were greeted kindly ,service was good. The food was great the portions were huge, Cost was about 10 dollars each with drink. We liked it but it is not the kind of place you would take a date.

If you live in the West Hills, you know Joy Wok. We used to live close to Joy Wok, and ate there regularly. Now living in Central Oregon, we get there a couple times a year.
Here's the thing. The food never changes! And, it's always excellent!
At atmosphere is clean, but cafeteria like. No matter, that's not why you're here. Great food. Ample portions. Fresh and healthy ingredients. Nice staff.
Just my guess, but I think they do about half take-out, and half dine in.
Now get this. I always order the Chicken Fried Rice, and my wife always orders the Chicken Fried Rice "spicy". We know that when the powers that be at Joy Wok read this, they'll know who we are!
So, "hi" to everyone at Joy Wok! From Mike.

We live about 5 miles away but it is worth the drive. We order out from the quietly, friendly staff. Love everything we get. Not exotic but always very good.

They offer brown rice and several healthy options. There is enough food for two meals, and service is extremely fast. This is a great place to stop between Portland and the 'Burbs if you aren't looking for atmosphere or elegance. The prices are moderate and the staff, friendly.

I have eaten here on multiple occasions. The food is fresh, cooked to order, and fast. Lots of meat (or tofu depending on the dish) in each entree. Often goes for two meals even though the average entree only costs about $10 (I'll take half home).
