Very lackluster food, we were disappointed since the menu descriptions sounded so enticing. Small er portions than we had expected.

It's been over a year since my last visit. I am not a resident of Portland but if I was, I'd eat here more often. The food and beverages are still quality. The five of us, again sampled the others' food. They must be doing...something right to keep the quality and continue to have a full house of diners. Hope to dine here again on my next trip.More

Xico is one of the few really upscale Mexican dining spots in Portland. It's great for a date, and to get away from the usual (no matter how good) Mexican fare.

We were looking for lunch in the neighborhood and discovered Xico. Beautiful decor and good food. Nice patio outside in the back too.

In my opinion this is a place it’s overpriced, does not offer a wide selection of items and the service is poor. We waited a long time for food only to be so cold and it really wasn’t that great at all. I would never...go back and I would not recommend it.More

We were fortunate to get a table on the patio, which is lovely. The menu is quite inventive. The salad tacos were salad on top of two corn shells, including a flourish of edible flowers. Quite good. The sopapillas were way off on the topping/bread...ratio, but were still tasty. Unfortunately the server was totally lackluster. Not sure if he was busy doing side work or just wasn’t excited about a two top being sat at 8:15 pm, but he took his sweet time coming around for every little thing. He wasn’t rude exactly but he certainly wasn’t friendly. Like he was merely tolerating us. Despite the restaurant being half full.More

Caring service and delicious food made for a great evening. It’s too bad the rain kept us from dining on the patio. The skinny marguerita was really good, but the habanero salt a bit hot. All else was perfect from the hot homemade chips to...the fry bread dipped in mole. We ordered small plates from the entradas and shared an entree. We can recommend the: salsa and guacamole sampler, queso fundido, green tomatoes and molé negro, and chochoyotes. Do not miss the chochoyotes. We’ll be back the next time we are in town!More

I had been to Xico in September 2018 and it was very good. Tonight, May 11, 2019, I went with some friends and it was terrible. The service was slow. We ordered chips with a salsa and it came after they told us our appetizer...choice was unavailable. We waited around 15 minutes to be told they were out of the appetizer (mass dumplings) and the chips came after that. We ordered the tamales and waited a long time for them. And they were horrible. I was very disappointed and won’t be coming back here again.More

We came without reservations, put our name on the list and went around Division St. while waiting... We were seated at the bar (outside patio looked very inviting though). Sergio at the bar was polite, knew how to hold a conversation, and made great drinks....Food was well made, good portion sizing (sharable). We ordered an octopus dish, chochoyotes, and Yucatan pork. Interior was cute. Basically it's 'premium' Mexican food. Not cheap but it was a fun visit to check of the list.More

While I have been to Xico a number of times for dinner, this was my first visit for lunch. there is a lunch menu, but also a daily special -- this day it was carnitas pork tacos with rice and beans. Food quality and presentation...is always high here, and lunch was no exception. The special included a beer or limeade and was $12 -- very reasonable given the nice surroundings and good food quality. Service was prompt and friendly. Seems like a great option in relation to a food cart.More

My friend brought me to Xico for drinks and dinner when I was in town visiting. It was SOOO good! We started with cocktails. I did a habanero margarita which was great. We shared the classic Xico naxos and I have been DREAMING of them...ever since. I never thought wet, soaked chips would be a thing to love, but I was very wrong. Every bite was savored and exclaimed over. We also shared the tamales dish since it is vegetarian and that was quite good as well. I am eager to return!More

My husband and I decided to hit up SE Division for dinner and gelato. The hostess was friendly and sat us at the bar while we waited for our table. We both ordered fancy margaritas. Me the Cadillac Margarita and he ordered I believe a...green margarita. I don’t drink much tequila but this was a damn good margarita. We ordered the queso fundido, OMG!! I could have eaten that all night. The fresh corn tortillas!! I love them! I ordered the tamales, so delicious, and the sauce, makes my mouth water just thinking about it. My husband order the carnitas and said he would order that every time we will go there. Whatever expectations we might have had, were blown away. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Portland.More
