Went to The Eastburn with family for a Sunday brunch. The wait was good- 10minutes to get seated. After getting seated in the back patio area, the service was slow for both drinks and food. We ordered an assortment of food. Flavor wise the food...was good. The portion sizes were small for the prices and I am not an over-eater. I had biscuits and gray - 1 spit small biscuit and small scoop of gravy (not a side order) The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. With tip we spend $160 for 5 people- 7 tap drinks and 5 meals.More

Just a great big space and between the patio, side street tables and breezy main space, I didn't feel nervous at all. Staff was lovely and food was fresh and delicious. And that breakfast cocktail flight! You really could just hand out and do those...all day...More

Went here for brunch and it was quite good, my partner ordered smoked beef hash with yukon potatoes, while I had their eggs and grain dish. both with eggs how you like them. It was suprising how good it was, we enjoyed our meal. Recommended...for brunch! I could see how it's a cool spot for drinks later in the evening too.More

The only reason I'm not giving this place five stars is the sound. I have been there a few times now, later in the evening, and when the music gets started it's very difficult to have any kind of relaxed conversation if you're sitting in...the front room. The food is lovely. Try the beet salad. The brussel sprouts. The artichokes. This is gourmet stuff at non-gourmet prices. Even their house wine was lovely. As was our waitress. A comfortable neighborhood eatery.More

The staff make this place really great. I was dining solo, so I sat at the bar for dinner. The bartender was super friendly and chatty, and one of the kitchen staff (shift completed or day off) sat next to me. It says a lot...about the place when the staff want to hang out there when they’re not working. Bar wall “movie” was an archaeological dig, which was an odd choice, but interesting at the same time. The reason for the lower star rating was that my beet Reuben tasted like hard, canned beets were dumped on top of the normal sauerkraut. It wasn’t good, but the fries it came with were fantastic.More

The photo on the website of the basket chairs got me interested but as it turns out they are in the window right on the street and there are only 3 of them. I tried the Jack Pumpkin Chocolate Porter and it was superb --...extremely smooth and flavorful. My french dip was fine as were the fries. The server was helpful and kind, and easily available. My dinner companion was pleased with the good bits of steak in the steak salad. This is not a 5 star review simply because the whole place seemed a bit dumpy. That doesn't bother me, but I probably wouldn't take anyone their who is impressed with upscale pubs. According to the waitress it's been there for about 20 years (shows how much I know having just found it) and was a biker hangout previous to that. There also a tap room downstairs but didn't go down to inspect. I'll be more than happy to return and hope the beer is just as good.More

There are a lot of restaurants in this area of SE Burnside, but this is one I keep going back to. It's casual and offers good food and drinks at reasonable prices. Back patio when good weather and funky hanging wicker chairs in front -...check it out.More

You should know by now that I can't visit Portland without having the Uber sandwich here (house smoked pork tenderloin shaved & stacked on a potato pancake with scallion sour cream, caramelized onions, and bourbon-apple chutney on a toasted potato bun). They have an exceptional...beer list to go with a relaxed/fun vibe. Our server, Andrew C., was awesomely friendly and helpful - to the point that when I asked for a hazy beer, he went off-list and brought me something from their then-closed downstairs tap. Lovely!More

Stopped in with a friend for dinner and a beer, and had a great time. We sat out on the enclosed porch and the only complaint I have is that we did not get a fire table or swinging seat, all were taken. The food...was delicious, the crab mac and cheese is awesome. Came on a Tuesday so the half-priced drinks were a +. While we relaxed, each table had trivial pursuit, we had a blast trying to see how much history we could remember. Would go back often if I lived in Portland.More

Our daughter, who lives in Portland, really likes EastBurn so we went there for brunch on Easter Sunday. All three of our entrees were good to excellent. My wife loved her huevos rancheros,my daughter enjoyed her caprese benedict, and I savored my crabcake benedict. EastBurn...offers refills of morning cocktails for only $2-3.00. The service was friendly, efficient, and professional.More

My sister chose this place as the after wedding brunch and while I was not going to go originally, I had to get my brother's tux to the groom or groomsmen that live in Portland. I'm glad I did. The brioche french toast was the...second best french toast I have had in my lifetime and I LOVE french toast. The backroom was very cute and the kids loved the swing chairs. I would love to return when I can relax and try out their dinner menu. Or just order more french toast.More

My husband and I went for the free Monday night stand up comedy show. We decided to eat dinner there. It was great. I got the chicken with succotash. Chicken was boneless, but very tender. The corn muffin was fabulous. Sort of a cross between...corn bread and spoon bread. Deliciously moist. Husband loved his crab Mac and cheese. Our friendly waiter was from Czechoslovakia - so an expert on beer by birth-and not surprisingly had good tips on beer selection. And attentive to boot. The comedians were hilarious. Very memorable evening.More

I was impressed by the "funky" decor in the restaurant. We were seated quickly and I was overwhelmed by the menu and sights.( I had just gotten there, so jet lag had not quite set in!) I chose the Bacon Cheeseburger-- which is different for...me as I seldom eat red meat. I was not disappointed when it came out. In my opinion, I think the menu needs a couple of stars next to this item to promote it's goodness. The burger arrived looking hot and delicious. The burger was delightfully loaded with all the toppings , but the onions were sheer heaven- I was afraid the tomatoes might overpower everything, but they blended in extremely well and added that little zip to the other vegetables. I bit in ( couldn't fit it all in) and took a huge bite, wanting to make sure that I got all the tastes. I knew I had a winner when I felt the juice dribble down the side of my mouth and the explosion of joy hit my tastebuds. The fries were perfect.......hot and crispy on the outside and tender inside.....like the fries of your dreams! Lightly salted and just enough grease to handle the burger. If you like messy burgers...this is the one! Service was polite and prompt....not overly obtrusive, probably could have used a drop in to check on drinks during meal. They have an ENORMOUS selection of hand crafted microbrews and whisky that they rotate daily. They post the names on the"specials" board. I had to laugh because they had numbers posted next to them and I thought that it was the price...instead it was the potency of the brew or whisky! This was astounding....and I imagine quite fun for those that partake. This is a must do, even if for a lunch, because of the freshness of foods, brews and whisky. They have many nightly specials and activities which covered many interests. Go and let yourself have fun!More
