My wife and I scoped out places to eat when the matinee at Keller Auditorium was over, and found House of Ramen. Well within walking distance, we easily made it here within 3 minutes of leaving the auditorium and found the place with plenty of...seats and an eager staff. Both my wife and I had Ramen dishes which arrived quickly. The Ramen was hot, well-spiced, and the meat tender--at a surprisingly affordable price. We noted that, by the time we left, the restaurant was totally full and a line was forming, suggestive of its status as an accessible, affordable, delicious stop while on a downtown outing.More

I ordered takeout through Doordash and since my hotel was just down the street, I picked it up myself. It was ready to go with friendly service and very accommodating. The ramen (Meat Lover's) was okay in taste, but the deep fried shrimp appetizers were...quite good.More

During a recent visit to Portland, we discovered that in at least the corner of the city we stayed in, there is not a lot open in the evening for moderately priced dining, especially if you're looking for something locally owned. We were happy to...see The House of Ramen's signage - and who doesn't like ramen, especially on a rainy, chilly evening? Bowls were generously sized and full of all the things you want. There are many options available. We tried the bbq pork and the beef. Both were satisfying. The egg was nicely cooked. We were the only tourists there; everyone else was local. We would stop here again.More

Spring rolls need ample peanut sauce and something to spice them up. Here, not enough sauce, tasteless rolls that fell apart, no spice. Busy lunchtime atmosphere. Nothing special.

I had a chicken ramen bowl for lunch while in town for a conference. Convenient location, reasonable prices, and an amazingly flavorful bowl of ramen. Highly recommend!

This was a bowl worth getting. I went during happy hour and ordered 2 bowls. Why?? To try to different broths. You cant sample broths so the next best option is 2 for price of 1 :)). I ate in the restaurant the curry ramen...without meat. Let's just say I wish had a bowl of it now. This was almost as good as the bowl I had at Bone Daddies in London. Still the best Ramen to be had, but this here at the Ramen house was very good. My other bowl was Shoyu broth it was excellent as well. Both seemed to be made with love. Flavorful when placed on the table. Condiments added chili oil ( yes I like, no love and need heat) japanese pepper just a dash and togashi just a dash. This was much better than Afuri restuarant. That was just okay ( see other review) where ramen is really about the broth. After trying I knew not enough saltiness, umami taste or anything. Even at full price the cost is cheaper for a better bowl of ramen. Ramen house at 3 was not busy. Just one other customer when I went in, and 2 as I left. Just keep in mind a busy place does not always mean great or even good food. If ever in Portland again, I will stop here for a guaranteed good meal.More

This is a small place. It is quick and the price is reasonable. Overall it is a pretty good place to have a quick dinner.

Went for a quick dinner. Great "salad rolls" with peanut sauce. Liked the vegetarian noodle soup, but didn't love it. They have beer on tap. Clean, fast service, good tasting.

Have a quick lunch in this small Japanese restaurant. The pork ramen especially the soup is tasty and the seaweed salad is refreshing too. There are quite a number of choices available and the waiting time for the food is very reasonable.

I had a lot of changes to my ramen bowl and the fixed me right up very accomodating. The bowls were a good size and plenty of food. They seemed like they ranged in price from around $10-13. We were staying at the waterfront and...wanted a quick bite and this hit the spot.More
