I had heard lots of good things about this restaurant, but I was a bit underwhelmed. I had the Pan Con Chicharron (Pork Shoulder Sandwhich). For my taste is was too much bread so I just attempted to eat the meat, the only problem is it was mostly fat. The french fries were good, nice and crispy. I also had... More

The butifarra is their signature sandwich: pepper-rubbed sliced pork, mild chili pepper mayo, lettuce, salsa criolla (lime-marinated red onion with cilantro), and it will KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF! The ingredients are fresh, prices are cheap eats. You order at the counter, they bring your food. The shoestring french fries--these are not your mother's shoe strings that come in a bag... More

Las Primas is one of my favorite restaurants in Portland. I have visited more times than I can remember. They have a pretty good selection of Peruvian street food, like the classic Butifarras, the popular Pan con Chicharron, and those delicious Yuquitas. My favorites are the Stir Fried Beef Plate, and its sandwich counterpart, the Lomo Saltado Sandwich. I really... More

I have eaten here 4-5 times and always love the food. It is a casual restaurant where you walk up to the counter to order, then sit down and they bring your food. My favorite thing to order are the empanadas, but really everything is delicious, and reasonably priced. They have some interesting juices as well. The decor is bright... More

Authentic as you can get. Las Primas had the best pork belly sandwich I've ever eaten. Super fresh ingredients, exquisite popping flavors, creative tasty sauces. Everything I've tried has been extraordinary. The proprietors of this establishment were so nice and accommodating. If I could, I would give them 10 stars.

Once you've visited a country and tasted the local flavors, it's really hard to find a place back home that gets it right. Las Primas totally gets it right! Everything from the empanadas to the lomo saltado to the chicha morada and pisco sours are just perfect. Some nights feature live entertainment and the happy hour prices can't be beat.

Loved it! At first it was hard to figure out what to order because the menu isn't typical, there are lots of different kinds of foods and no pictures of the dishes. We were looking at everyone else's food. I ordered the beef soup which was very good and tasty. The won tons with melted cheese inside were wonderful, I... More

We ate here with our daughter who lives in NE Portland so it is not a local drop in for her. You order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. I had the sausage plate; it was excellent. My wife enjoyed the slow roasted chicken. It was worth the drive on a Sunday evening. (Might now... More

We had the slow roasted chicken and the butifarra. Both were generous portions with lovely flavors. The chicken tasted amazing and had a nice grilled, somewhat crispy texture on the outside (but it was skinless, and wasn't coated or fried). The potatoes were nice and crispy, and the quinoa salad refreshing. We also had fun trying all of their sauces.... More
