I love the smell of the waffle cones baking at Salt N Straw. I love the ice cream at Salt N Straw. My favorite is sea salt Carmel. Now I took my nieces there who are both 6. They were very upset because they didn't believe it was ice cream. They complained that it was vegetables. The flavors are not... More

We were treated to Salt & Straw, & I do mean treated. I may have a new favorite flavor. Crazy names, & very good tasting flavors. You can try 1 or all. No worries. Love Salt & Straw.

We ate ice cream here this summer that was so good, and flavors you wouldn't expect. Don't be surprised if you have to wait in line. Do It...It's Worth It!

Highly recommend trying the specials. If you don't plan on visiting Portland often then take advantage of their unique flavors and amazing waffle cones. This is still a good place to visit even when it's cold.

We visited the shop based on a recommendation from our brother in law in Washington DC. He actually had a friend visit and said, if ever in Portland go here! Great experience. Recommend highly.

I understand the hype. On a Thursday night I waited in a line about 20 people deep (it moves quickly – about 10 minutes wait time) and tasted multiple samples (yes, people like me are why lines get backed up –sorry) with a very patient and smiling employee– strawberry balsamic vinegar with black pepper, honey lavender, rocky road, sour cream... Best 45 minutes spend waiting in line for!!! Yes, be prepared for a long line even just before closing at 11 pm. We visited twice while in Portland for a week back in August. The cones are out of this world but the ice cream is incredible.

This is the best ice cream I think I've ever hard in my entire life. I'm not much of an ice cream eater, but the salt and straw out did themselves. We went at like 9:00 at night and the line was wrapped around the block so we decided to come back the next day and I'm glad we did.... More

Imaginative creations. Some we liked, others not so much though I think I'll eat anything that is ice cream. The white toast/apple sauce(?) was my favorite. Was it worth the one hour wait in line? no, not for me. If you crave the odd combos, then this is the place for you. The serving sizes are huge and the staff... More

Had almond brittle & strawberry balsamic. Loved both. Even if the line seemed never-ending, customer service was good -- worth the wait.
