While I have had good to very good meals at Roost and generally loved the high quality food in an informal setting I was dissappointed recent. Nothing was bad except for the service. I brought a quite a nice bottle of wine and the server virtually drained the entire bottle into 4 glasses. No room to breath or swirl. The... More

Wow! The food is my kind of comfort and their s'mores dessert is my favorite. Brunch is delicious but sometimes you have to wait for your table. All good things in life are worth waiting for. I've always experienced top notch and super friendly service here and I keep returning for my cup of comfort.

Thought we'd give Roost a try for Sunday brunch. We put our name on the waiting list and asked the host for a cup of coffee while we wait. Should have known the service was going to be poor when we actually said they couldn't do that! First place I've ever been to in Portland to deny us a coffee... More

Wonderful, friendly service. Kentucky Hot Brown was splendid. Nothing over-salted, solid bloody mary. Will be visiting again next time in Portland.

I must confess. This place is trendy and I'm not. But it was a great place to meet friends and enjoy a nice evening of dining and conversation. The wine menu was extensive and allowed us to sample Oregon choices. But the menu had a limited choice of entrees, like many bistros. The red cabbage caesar salad was good but... More

Great food! My wife and I enjoyed our choices very much. The Garlic Stew tomatoes eggs and Enchilada-eggs were yummy.

Enjoyable food on an empty Sunday night. Asked if we had reservations. Said we didn't think Sunday night would be busy and it wasn't. Highly recommended.

We selected the Roost based upon the NYT 36 hours in Portland article. The restaurant lived up to its review in the Times. Very good food, quiet atmosphere. Easy access. Good service. I'd recommend the Roost to travelers and locals alike. Our total bill was $60 including tip, beverage, dinner, shared appetizer for 2.

While visiting friends in Portland, they recommended and the six of us went to Roost for dinner. We started by sharing a grilled romaine salad with salami chips, radishes, olives and a wonderful dressing. Without a doubt, the best salad I've ever eaten. My husband was seated in such a way that he could see into the kitchen and enjoyed... More

My partner and I went to Roost recently after having driven by many times. I wish we would have gone sooner, and I look forward to going back. Small and intimate with a minimalist, yet comfortable design, it is an inviting and romantic place to have dinner. The food is very Portland, Fresh, local and inventive, A great selection of...
