What's not to like here? The best roasted chicken we have ever eaten, good wine list, perfect service in an interesting neighborhood on the North side of Portland. Many other great restarants in the neighborhood. Front room is not air conditioned, but surprisingly, we were not uncomfortable in... read more

The title says it all. If you have experienced great French food, either in France or at any of a number of great American versions, this place will disappoint. Just putting snails or frog's legs in the menu does not a French restaurant make. And listening to the conversation between the barman and the woman next to me at the... More

We were sad to hear that Cocotte was closing on November 22nd, and so we decided to come back one more time. Love the space and setting - very quaint combination of bistro and English pub. We have had some very good meals here previously, and we were counting on a good meal. Well, we should have let sleeping dogs... More

Cocotte is easy to miss - I drove by several times. The food is upscale French/American Bistro. The cheese flight was great, but then we had a server who knew volume about cheese. The chicken live mousse was wonderful -just needed some fine crackers or toasted tiny sourdough toast to make it perfect. My friend got the salmon and it... More

Cocotte is one of my local favorites. I can't think of anything to improve except perhaps a larger wine list would be nice. Service is always very good, the food is consistent and pretty darn tasty. There are a few things that stay on the menu (like the Chicken - my favorite) but other things change around with the seasons... More

We came here for a change-up from our tradition "Anniversary Dinner" place, and fell in love with the food, cocktails and Staff! Three years of dinners and we feel like family! Kat and Mischa constantly make us smile with unexpected flavor combinations and new twists on old favorites I.e. A beet pesto recently accompanied crispy sweet breads. Chadwick the Barman... More

We went to Cocotte for our anniversary. We had all three courses with my wife enjoying the liver pate. I enjoyed a cold soup for the second course (it was a hot day) and then overhydrated by having another soup from the sea for the entree. (The line to the bano wasn't tooo long.) Overall, we enjoyed our time at... More

Visited this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend. Cozy space and a bit out of the way. First the positives: The presentation of the food was beautiful Each dish was like a work of art. Some of our dishes were very tasty. Unusual ingredients but they worked! The beet salad was very good as was the chicken liver mousse.... More

Cocotte was advertised locally as being a "French Restaurant" but was overall a very disappointing experience. As our waiter explained; "We are a Paris inspired restaurant, but VERY Portland in how we present it". We have been in the "real" Paris recently and one would be hard pressed to find food like this in the City of Lights. The place... More
