My girlfriend and I were looking for a nice aged sharp cheddar and a blue cheese. Our cheese monger said how about both and provided a sample of one cheese that met our criteria. Can't beat that! We were in a rush so we were just grabbing something to go, but next time we are staying for the grilled cheese.... More

A well curated variety of cheeses and cured meats available in a number of different style options are the showcase here. Simple presentation and reasonable prices are complimented by a small but high quality selection of beer and wine.

Excellent selection and great set tasting plates, such as stinky, ripened, etc. Soup, toasties, etc. also on offer for lunch to supplement the cheese plates...which ones to choose is the challenge!!

We went there after a long busy day and relaxed on the back porch with wine and good food. This restaurant is not much to look at but the food is good and the service was friendly and quick. I had the steak sandwich and the couple with me had the Buddy Up Board which is a collection of meats... More

Most intriguing and beautiful selection on cheese without boarding a plane. From a true fromagerite at heart. Cheers, A

Had a great lunch on a sunny day in Portland. Enjoyed the buddy board. The cheese was a Raw cow from France and one from Belgium. Both were very tasty. They were not busy on a Sunday...I think the Timbers game might have had something to do with that though. Definitely recommend stopping by for a plate and a Pint.

The Cheese Bar (aka Steve's Cheese) should be known to all fromagerites or cheese lovers. Wonderful selections many from local makers and others from small European producers all hand picked by the man of cheese. Staff are all very knowledgeable about each one and are more than happy to provide tastes or recommend parings. Since I am lucky enough to... More

A wonderful selection of cheeses and helpful customer service. Didn't try the food but it looked and smelled great. I'll be back for cheese and to try their food.

Located in an unassuming block, the Cheese Bar is a world class destination. Cheesemonger Steve has won numerous accolades including the national Cheesemonger Invitational. The cheeses here are carefully chosen and expertly cared for. Stop by to shop from the deli, have lunch or enjoy one of the many cheese plates offered with a glass of fine wine.

It was a great place to visit. We got a cheese board and Mac and cheese. The selections were delicious. Would go again if in Portland. Parking was hard though.
