Whether you're looking for breakfast or a light lunch in Portland, Pearl is the go-to place. Well-regarded owner (whose bread recipe) appears in one of my favorite cookbooks and his wife have been offering quality products for a number of years here and at farmers' markets and restaurants around town. Lively casual atmosphere with some outdoor tables. Delicious cookies and... More

An amazing bakery with a terrific selection of goodies. They also have sandwiches but really their highlight for me is their bread. My fav is the Vollkornbrot bread - it's a meal given how heavy it is as well as how tasty. Friendly staff and amazing baked sweets round this place out as a too notch bakery.

We enjoyed our meal here. I had a manchego and avocado sandwich which was wonderful! I thought the prices were a bit high and the staff could have been friendlier. Over-all a good experience.

Wow, what else can one say when you encounter a bakery that has the finest baked goods around? I stopped here while returning to our rented room after my morning run. It was quaint. They had all the usual baked goods: croissants, cinnamon bun, and fruit Danishes. It was not until I took my first bite that I knew this... More

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we found the Pearl Bakery. Thinking we would share a baked treat, we were happy to find a nice selection of sandwiches. The fresh turkey on their delicious rye bread was very tasty. We also enjoyed a fresh piece of carrot bundt cake and then purchased some cookies to enjoy later. The... More

Very pleasant neighborhood atmosphere, kind of interesting big construction site across the street that you can watch from the big windows that surrounds the store. We went almost every day of our visit to Porland.

We came here on an "epicurean walking tour" of Portland and got to sample several items, all of which were superb! I especially loved the chocolate croissant and gibassier, a French pastry flavored with anise and candied orange peel, and not overly sweet. Absolutely lovely. Luckily for me very few places in the US make it...which helps my diet a... More

We visited this bakery for the first time 2 years ago. This time we went there for cake and coffee. This bakery is a must visit if you support handmade breads and pastries. They have a wide range of choices and depending on the season e.g. small hand pies filled with rhubarb and strawberries. Our boy loved the chocolate panini.... More
