Wow, what else can one say when you encounter a bakery that has the finest baked goods around? I stopped here while returning to our rented room after my morning run. It was quaint. They had all the usual baked goods: croissants, cinnamon bun, and fruit Danishes. It was not until I took my first bite that I knew this... More

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we found the Pearl Bakery. Thinking we would share a baked treat, we were happy to find a nice selection of sandwiches. The fresh turkey on their delicious rye bread was very tasty. We also enjoyed a fresh piece of carrot bundt cake and then purchased some cookies to enjoy later. The... More

Very pleasant neighborhood atmosphere, kind of interesting big construction site across the street that you can watch from the big windows that surrounds the store. We went almost every day of our visit to Porland.

Great selection of bakery items. Croissants done just right. Lovely looking breads to take away. Can sit to have item and coffee drink. Great place to rest after all the shopping!

We came here on an "epicurean walking tour" of Portland and got to sample several items, all of which were superb! I especially loved the chocolate croissant and gibassier, a French pastry flavored with anise and candied orange peel, and not overly sweet. Absolutely lovely. Luckily for me very few places in the US make it...which helps my diet a... More

We visited this bakery for the first time 2 years ago. This time we went there for cake and coffee. This bakery is a must visit if you support handmade breads and pastries. They have a wide range of choices and depending on the season e.g. small hand pies filled with rhubarb and strawberries. Our boy loved the chocolate panini.... More

Although I visited this bakery as part of a food tour, I felt inclined to give it it's own review because the baked goods there were outstanding. The croissants were easily the best I've ever eaten, seems like more butter than flour in them. And we tried a pastry called gibassier which has to be one of the best things... More

My first visit was on a rainy Saturday afternoon, I had a latte and croissant, possibly the best I have ever had, and I knew I would have to come back before leaving town. The next day I stopped by to pickup roast beef sandwich for lunch later, and a latte and chocolate croissant to start the day (once again... More

I am having an almond croissant and a gibassier with a cup of coffee at the pearl bakery now. The almond croissant is good but I like it to be crispier but, the gibassier is very nice with beautiful aroma and flavor of orange not overwelming but perfect. There are 7 tables with two chairs each and a long window... More
