5 courses of wonderful

The first I went was over 2 years ago during Feb. when they had the 5 course pairing which the theme was chocolate. I was absolutely sold on this place. My husband and I had basically a reservation every 2-3 weekend for when the new theme came out. We will continue to come not just for the food... read more

This visit was for our company holiday party. When the location was announced, the idea of going to a "pool hall" did not appeal to me. As it turned out this place is magnificent. Great ambiance. Great food. Pool tables, ping pong tables, dart boards. It didn't take long for the party to really start rocking. It was probably the... More

This is a very unassuming place (with an exterior entrance that gives you no sense of what the place is like as you climb a long set of stairs). Yes, it really is a pool hall but a stylish one... HOWEVER, the main dining area is in a rear area that is cordoned off (with large curtains), and is very... More

Uptown is one of the top two bars I have ever visited, and the other one on the list is not in Portland. Hallelujah for bar food that doesn't make you regret eating it; thank the chef for his amazing five-course meals. I'm a wine fan, and their wine list is impressive. The setting takes you back to a different... More

This is the classiest place I have ever played pool in. And the bar is a classic vintage style all dark wood. They have great craft beers and cocktails. Bar menu is superb and happy hour is even better.

We found this place to be just OK. To start with, the stairs to enter the place are drab and dirty - kind of a funky musty smell. When you enter the establishment you enter the bar area and we were greeted by a nice young lady who showed us to an empty dining room. We did show up on... More

As we walked through the door I noticed the months theme written on a chalkboard.......... Chocolate The long set of stairs leads you to the bar area. It is a large open space and open to some of the pool tables. It is a large space but feels intimate due to the subdued lighting. We were greeted right away, but... More

As good of a happy hour deal as JAKES without the crowds. The happy hour food menu at 6 pm sharp. Pates, fresh bread, salads, pork belly wraps, all yummy and all half price. They also knock a couple of bucks off the beer wine and mixed drinks until 6:30, sharp. The place is super cool and different, with a... More

If you're in the area, can be a fun way to hang out for a few hours by playing a little pool and having a libation. Food is ok, nothing crazy good or anything though, but decent enough if you're hungry. We have had some group events here where fake gambling tables were brought in, and then it's a fun... More

Go to Uptown for happy hour. Being from out of town and on foot, we were directed by our hotel to 23rd Street for multiple choices. We chanced upon the Uptown Billiards Club. Not being billiard players or club members never dissuaded 2 intrepid widows! We knew of Portland 's reputation for good and reasonable food as a lure to... More
