I've been to a number of tea rooms throughout Oregon and my first visit today to this tea room won me over. This is now my favorite in the state. I ordered the queen's tea (totally worth it) and I loved everything on the plate,...especially the scone. The raspberry jam and lemon curd made my taste buds sing. I was thrilled to get my choice of dessert and, since I was celebrating my birthday, I was treated to two choices. Yum! I look forward to returning soon!More

Lovejoy's is such an utter delight, and made a Covid Birthday celebration so special! They're currently doing takeout, with sachets of brew-at-home tea. I got the Shepherd's Pie, which is TO DIE FOR (hands down the best I've ever had), along with apple-cream cheese sandwiches...which were delicate and delicious. I got the vanilla lavender black tea and cannot recommend it enough; it was sweet, floral, and earthy like each of it's elements, and was absolutely delicious. My mom got a Coconut Chai that she liked so much she went back for a whole bag - and she's a coffee drinker! Not only was the food and tea beautiful and special, but as we were in the shop we were chatting about Birthday gifts. The shopkeeper overheard us and put a cupcake in our bag before we even had a chance to ask! So incredibly thoughtful and kind. You may not be able to take a flight to Britain right now, but Lovejoy's is the next best thing!More

A great find in a Portland neighborhood with a fellow tea drinker. We were impressed with the families that were there with well behaved children. One little boy was celebrating his birthday. Menu of food and tea had great selections. Our afternoon tea was lovely...when served and yummy to eat.More

A lovely and welcome addition to the Portland high tea scene. Tasty with a great tea selection. The stand out was the mince pie paired with apple pie tea. Very good scone.

I didn't expect to like this place as I'd experienced mediocre and downright bad Tea Rooms in Portland and surrounding areas, especially for expensive High Tea for which quality was not a priority. I just didn't think Portland was the place to find an excellent...Tea Room. This place pleasantly surprised me with wonderful service, high quality ingredients for food, pastries and teas and a delightful atmosphere. It was beyond my wildest expectations and we are definitely returning. Reservations are required but don't let that fool you. Unpretentious, fun and fabulous scones, pastry and petit fours. Prices are reasonable. You can order other items off the menu and lots of tea related nick-snacks in the shop. Don't miss this experience. Parking is on the street but there is a small parking lot around the corner in back of the shop with a handicap spot as well. Go and enjoy!More

The tea selection is wide and there are plenty of sandwich choices too. Our scones were warm and fresh from the oven and the raspberry preserves and clotted cream were the perfect accompaniment. I thoroughly enjoyed the decor, the comfy chairs, the fun gift shop...and the very friendly staff. What a wonderful find this is!More

A visit here was beyond my expectations. The tea selection was wide, the decor inviting and fun. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. This was my first visit. I’ll make it a point to be back again soon.

Love this place! Parking can be a problem, street parking, but such a cute place! Food was great and tea selections were great too! I told this place about it to my daughter and she can’t wait to go with me.

After visiting Lovejoy's in SF, I wished a Lovejoy's would open here in Portland, well my wish has been granted! It's just as eclectic and charming as the one in SF. Brendon, the owner has paid a lot of attention to detail. There are a...lot of choices for the tea sandwiches, which as a vegetarian I appreciate. The English Breakfast tea had a robust flavor, hot, delicious and the endless pot is a winner. It's recommended to make reservations, on their website it is easy and simple to make them online. The scones with Devon cream and preserves, were delicious. There are gluten free choices available also. This is going to be my go to place with out of town guests and it's going to be my regular place for my tea fix! Lovejoy's thank you for granting my wish!More

This tea room was open for about two weeks when we went for my birthday celebration. We made a reservation -- although the place was far from packed. I have two main complaints about our experience: the "me tea" that we ordered was way too...expensive for what we got. For 19.00, we got a tiny scone, a tiny sandwich (think cucumber sandwich) and a pot of tea. That should cost maximum 15.00 -- and even that would be pushing it. Secondly, the service needed improvement. First and foremost multiple people hovered over our table so that we were interrupted every two minutes by different people making conversation virtually impossible. In addition, the service wasn't polished or professional. I almost felt like we had slipped into a parody of a tea shop. On the positive side, I like the queer friendly vibe of the place. If they are to succeed, they need to rethink some basic aspects of their "high tea" experience.More
