Came here for a weekday dinner. While we had reservations, the restaurant was half empty. However, we were seated - without any other option being given - at a table in the middle of the restaurant near the door with a view into the dishwashing stand, even though several more intimate and better tables were available. And it wasn't because... More

Lovely place with fine food, drinks and surroundings. We sat outside in the tent and that was warm and cozy and were never ignored by the staff as it is outside the main dining rooms. We mostly went with the fixed price family style dinner (we had 1 vegan who they accommodated very nicely with a couple other dishes whilst... More

We had to eat "in the tent' which was comfortably heated and fine...so I can review the food and service but can't add much about the restaurant ambience. That said: WHAT A DINING EXPERIENCE! Servers were knowledgable, prompt, helpfujl and cheerful. The menu had many tempting dishes that you won't fine anywhere else. Unusual and HEALTHFUL combinations using what is... More

Had a nice date night dinner here while visiting Portland (staying downtown, took a cab to and from). Loved the tongue-in-cheek rustic ethos of the venue (we were inside at a window seat, not out in the groups tent). Great cocktails (I had a local gin martini, with a house-pickled onion that was so good, I asked for a second.... More

Nice, rustic establishment with excellent food. Wife's salad was very fresh---my trout was charred, nice crunchy skin with tender meat. Menu is limited but everything was great!

this was my first time to Portland, and my co-workers who live here took me to Ned Ludd for dinner on my first night. It was incredible and a true Portland experience.

Great food selected and assembled based on flavor rather than plate composition. Everything comes out of the wood fired brick oven. Staff knowledgeable and passionate about the food.

We have been in Portland for 3 months and have been sampling the local restaurants - I can't believe we waited so long to dine here. It was the best entire meal we have eaten whilst in America and closely resembles are favourite restaurants back home. Produce was fresh and flavours well refined throughout the dishes. We even had to... More

An $85 steak and bottle for two? Necessary? Glasses of wine around $15? You can eat in a lot of places in Portland, and this one is very popular. Two of our group had the steak, and three of us had the whole trout - nicely done, but all is pricey. A flatbread appetizer was $6 for a few pieces... More

We have been to Ned Lud several times, and I am sitting down to write this review as a little heads up. It is NOT a bad review, we love Ned Lud, just a heads up. Ned Lud serves a local fresh menu with seasonal items that change frequently. All items are cooked in their brick oven...pretty cool. My wife... More
